Self -> Family -> tribe -> race -> nation

It’s common sense. I’m quite fond of plenty of Africans and Caribbeans. That doesn’t make them us though. Or “brothers”.

Like I said they made themselves at home with Black American Culture and accomplishments belonging to the Black race* and not the Black ethnic group.
