Sounds like c00n talk
:wow:

I wouldn't of put it so harshly, but it really rubbed me the wrong kind of way when she made that statement. Like there's something wrong with being black. What is? Cause society thinks it's wrong?

I'm African, Black, and proud of who I am and if people don't' like it they can kiss my ass! I make no apologies for who I am period.

1. Race is a social construct, so fair play.
2. What is there to argue?

She might be one of the realist chicks alive. Who knows. Like people might ask you "are you proud of your skin?"
Well you didn't have much choice...but you can be proud of the heritage, and what you do while you are in that skin.
Maybe she doesn't see much of a reason to make a big deal out of her skin, rather than who she is(on the inside, that is).

She is. Which is why I follow her on tumblr in the first place.

That person Is wrong because black people are for one born with a genetic advantage.

Two your personality and culture are currently shaped by racist whites in America so I'm mm mm yea.

The type of person who says this is in denial about the world we live In and just wants to be accepted by whites.

Then it's whatever :manny: Is she doing a whole bunch of buffoonery that makes one wanna:snoop:

She badmouthing other black people in any excessive fashion?

If you went blind tomorrow and you heard the checklist of shyt she is into, how she speaks, whatever, would anything change?

Besides, usually when people say this, other blacks aren't the intended audience.

Wow....a couple things as I know this girl in real life.....

1 she's one of those girls who takes pictures crouching with the prayers hands, if that means anything to you

2 she's a feminist

3 She's black and dominican but when asked ONLY says dominican

Take those how you want
:yeshrug:
I miss when she took selfies. I posted a couple on my blog. She really has alot of black girls on tumblr who look up to her cause she was all about that black punk rock/skater/hip-hop girl thang that's now a trend.

Seems fair.
There are lots of different cultures and identities among all the black peoples on earth.

To act like you have to define yourself based on 1 superficial characteristic and act like it connects you to every other person sharing it is silly.

This.

Ppl who da that act as if "positive thinking" us gonna protect them from a system of racism and classism.
It's kind of sad. It's like that type of avoidant blissfully ignorant thinking like people who cover their eyes at parts in scary movies.
Then it's whatever :manny: Is she doing a whole bunch of buffoonery that makes one wanna:snoop:

She made a post about how she now dates a white guy and he hates how she posts things about black love and pro-blackness.

That was a very surprisingly :mjpls: from her.

I'm assuming she lives in a city where she interacts with many non-black groups.*

So she's had experiences with/emotional connections to non-black groups, which she'll have a hard time detaching herself from in order to examine the concept of race and racial identity outside of a western liberal context.

"White" Supremacy makes being black/african a taxing experience, and for someone that's
  • Young and not properly educated on their racial identity by their parents,
  • Enjoyed/enjoying pleasant interactions with non-black races in their city/town on a regular basis
that makes their racial identity become a ball and chain they wish they could free themselves from.

I would say this is the primary logistics behind alot of interacial dating, and c00n characteristics in general...

*NY, I checked...
