It bores me in the way that "Infinite" by Eminem bores me as an Eminem fan...or something like "I Can't Get With That" by Jay-Z just doesn't appeal when you've heard everything after that.

I prefer "It Was Written" and from what I eventually read, a lot of people share the same opinion. Some people just aren't crazy about that old school, floaty boom-bap sound. Don't understand why that's so hard to believe.

It's like...once you've heard really dynamic Nas songs like "Nas Is Like", "I Gave You Power", "If I Ruled The World", "One Mic"...Illmatic just sounds to background music to some. It is what it is.

I like "Memory Lane" and "NY State of Mind", but I not listening to that shyt like :gladbron: in 2013. I'm more like :ehh: at this point.

...and I'm 26. :mjpls:

Y'all youngins. I'm assuming early 20 and younger are being just as ignorant as older heads. 25 +. Call on has old and dusty while the older dudes call Drake gay and lame.

Its a catch 22. And at the end of the day new ones don't love hip hop like older dudes do. U just want to get ur make believe p*say that u can't get urself but gotta rely on an artist to do it. Lol.

Illmatic is undoubtedly a classic, but IWW was always my favourite album from Nas. I'm 25, and.I.can understand cats not having the time to do their history, most younger cats have a much more varied taste in music these days, and really only seem to scratch the surface of multiple genres. Add to that the sheer amount of new music being consistently released, its hard to keep up with it all.

I've been listening to hip hop for over 15 years, and there's still classic albums I haven't heard, shyt I only just heard a Mic Geronimo album yesterday cos I found "Vendetta" in the bargain bin, dope album though.

You was like 6 when Illmatic dropped, how did you comprehend it that it was the greatest thing you've heard?

My decision stays still tho, Illmatic is not for me.
