I can't objectively reccomend getting a PS4 over an XB1 right now

Buy a console to watch TV on brehs.
I own a PS4.
Last gen had a PS3 and 360.
I miss having ESPN app on the Xbox, but chromecast etc make that less of a concern.
Only games I've played recently are NBA 2K and Dragon Age that I had from a while ago.
If you switched out my PS4 for an Xbox One I wouldn't even notice or care.
For someone like me, I agree with OP, console choice is irrelevant.
I don't even know what resolution my PS4 is outputting.

Where in America was an X1 $250? They are both $349 msrp with game. And were both $299 on black friday with game.

During black Friday sales and through out the year the console has dropped to $250 before, with trades and without. I personally copped my XB1 during a BestBuy sale in the middle of the year for about $75 after the trade of an XBOX 360 and 2 controllers.
You are the first person I have seeing claiming that you can't get an XBOX ONE for cheaper than a PS4. This has widely been joked about in the Arcadium for more than a year now. It's consistently brought up that PS4 doesn't have to sell for cheaper than XB1 because it's winning, meanwhile MS LITERALLY has sold bundles that included cheeseburgers, French fries and a medium drink.
I can't regurgitate every deal there has been but keep an eye on the Video Game Deals thread. We constantly drop details about monster deals on there.
He's helped me out a lot with the deals thread. Leave that boy alone before I unload every single neg you deserve upon you for disrespecting the divine classic that was bestowed upon us in the form of Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain.
