I didn't get this job and it's really affecting me

Part of life. Not dismissing it but we all go through it, so you're not alone. I had like 5 interviews and countless applications filled out before I got my current job. shyt is hard out here and companies are as callous as ever about it too.

I will say at the very least they let you know. Companies are now ghosting folks and not giving a fukk after an interview.

Take it from someone who has been passed over for many promotions, a lot of the time it isn't about you, they simply had someone in mind and were just going through the process. Nothing to feel ashamed about. Show them why they made a mistake not giving the position to you

shyt, if you really like that particular company so much cordially ask them what you can improve on for next time and check in with the HR guy or manager from time to time.

2. Did you ask for feed back on why you were not selected? If not, ask why so you can improve for another opportunity.
3. Do you know who got the position? To be honest, most of these job postings are bullshyt and they already know who they will promote.
4. Apply elsewhere and demand more money. Loyalty me almost nothing today. Look out for yourself. Don't trust anyone you work with.

I aint got personal (as in myself.. cause in reality I dont have shyt going for me right now.. other than a beautiful daughter) experience in what you're going through.. but I can tell you a real life story that I know happened. My baby momma had worked for Livenation in the talent buying division.. after 16 years of being passed over for promotions, she decided that enough was enough. LN ended up being nothing more than a boys club. Women couldn't advance for shyt. She's amazing at her job, and loves everything about it. She even loved her team at LN.. but there came a time where she saw the writing on the wall.

Next thing you know.. she moves on and starts to work for AEG.. which if you guys dont know is Livenation's #1 competitor. They respect her there.. the pay is similar.. (maybe a little more.. I'm not sure) .. but she's still doing what she loves, and she's at least being recognized for it.. and appreciated.

I dont know what your situation is, as far as opportunities.. but maybe its time to spread your wings and find a new place to call home?

I hate stories like yours.. but at 43, I've accepted that it's just a part of life. As fukked up as that is.

Could be a host of reasons you didn’t get the job.. Maybe you didn’t interview well but since you said you was going hard for the position that tells me you didn’t interview well… Only thing I can think of is they put the position out there as a formality but they already had the person who they were going to give it too lined up but they had to conduct interviews to make it look official like you had a chance.. They play those types of games
