I don’t blame Donald Glover for pawging. Black women thought he was corny until “Atlanta” & “Redbone” dropped.

Now all of a sudden the fat chicks are the nice ones. Y’all gotta stop with revisionist history. It was always the overweight, ugly ones who would talk shyt to me while I was minding my business.

:mjlol:not even in the fukking trenches of the rust belt or the souf is that true. It's a plethora of black folk who don't get the nerd label cause they not in the streets. I swear to god, some of ya'll need a therapist and get over the anti-blackness that's deeply engrained within you.
What you are witnessing is that special snowflake resentment play out as these types stereotyping their own race of people.
Oftentimes rejects will generalize and flatten the diversity represented in our own community to justify their move to where they wanted to be in the first place: with non-blks.
They just socially conditioned to see the worst in their own community while thinking non-blks are saviors.

You could show them average, unattractive, dudes with hobbies getting chicks and they’d STILL have an excuse ready. Because they really just craving that non-blk validation. But you can’t come out and say that. So you gotta act like every black man that ever got some p*ssy MUST have been a thug.:mjlol:

Like I always say, Black Men hate being put in a box by society, but have no qualms doing it to other Black Men. Every single day.

The White/Non Black (both genders) is right crew are what they are.

BM say they're more feminine and friendly.

BW say they're better at providing and protecting.

BM stay praising the daughters of Brad/Jose/Zhao.

BW stay praising the sons of Karen/Maria/Soo Yung.

It's an endless cycle. Don't even waste your time.

just did some reading up on him and apparently he was a jehovah witness who was against sex and didn't have sex until his junior year in college. so basically there is no "he tried to get black girls and they turned him down", if that was the case then it was also true for other races of women up until he was 21 years old at NYU which i'll take an educated guess that it's majority white and he still took 3 years to get some. you all want someone to relate to so badly it's embarrasing. yall do this with russell wilson too "girls don't go for his type" when in real life he was the high school sports star and class president, literally everyone's type LOL

just speak for yourselves! stop projecting!
Geeez didn’t even know this. But some have tried to use him as a beacon of all nerds everywhere who were ignored by da evil thug lovin black wimminz!
Dun dun DUUUUNNNNN :pachaha:
And if that’s the case, there were PLENTY of long Jean skirt wear, Bible thumping blk chicks that would have been checking for him.
But he got what he wanted: a non-blk person.
Which is fine but then stop the victim sob story.

But if I could just make them see…I know, I know. They are so tuned into their rejection and victimhood status that they can’t see past it.

I think he dislikes black women and I can see it in his depictions of them in the show Atlanta. The darker blk women mad…the biracial black chick is wifey. Having grown up with white producers who do this type of shyt, it’s disheartening to see blks with a platform recreate these age-old stereotypes in their own artistry. I have similar issues with Tyler Perry emasculating black men instead of using his power to create epics or better content. But whateves.

As for the shucking and jiving onscreen, I just chalk that up to his classic special snowflake complex. Nearly everybody experiences rejection growing up. But some blks are so on the fringe that they never really fit in and they develop a huge complex against the community overall. The fascinating aspect of this complex is that in some individuals, they end up psychologically transferring their overall resentment of the black community to only one gender within it. So all the jokes that might have been cracked on Donald for his hairline by his fellow black male peers, all the “get this corny mofo” outta here roast sessions somehow get alchemically transformed into primary resentment against black women. Presumably b/c they thought that the women were supposed to save them from themselves. If they could have only gotten a popular or beautiful “It” girl or even a decent chick, dealing with the trauma of being stuffed in the locker would have been more bearable. Allegedly. So all the trauma the Donald Glovers of the world endured gets centralized in black women. I’ve seen similar issues with black women, where they completely ignore all the abuse they endured from other black WOMEN growing up and hyperfocus on the issues they experience with blk guys.

And there’s nothing more profitable than black romantic dysfunction. So of course he would play on that. It creates buzz AND helps him work through the resentment he feels against the black community that didn’t care about the plays he might have written growing up, that he associates primarily with black chicks.

In short, he’s just another talented weirdo who needs therapy. That’s Hollywood in a nutshell. Regardless I wish him well in his endeavors. I’m just not a fan b/c he reminds me of so many others I’ve encountered with similar issues.

You are a black woman so its not on me as a black man to disregard your feelings or your viewpoint on the matter; and I agree with you on MANY of your points save a few.

When I say I personally feel like he doesn’t dislike black women, its with the caveat that he’s done a lot behind the scenes to support and put on black female creatives. He supported Issa Rae early in her career BEFORE she was on HBO and had Insecure. He assembled the FIRST all black writers room for a television series in history, which included Stefani Robinson, a black woman who was a first time writer and was so successful on Atlanta that she went on to have her own separate development deal with FX. He also hired black female directors (Janicza Bravo, who directed the first season’s Juneteenth episode) He also hired Sherrie Silver to choreograph and appear in the This Is America music video, which was a HUGE break for her career. He also had her appear on tour, cameo in his film Guava Island, and perform with him on SNL. He’s been a big supporter of Michaela Coel (who it must be noted has herself made some suspect comments about black men) and cast her for a role in his upcoming Mr. & Mrs Smith series. He hired Malia Obama as a writer for another series he created; and i’ve often said I feel like his portrayal of dark skinned women on Atlanta is more nuanced than he’s given credit for (EXCEPT for the Champagne Papi episode where the dark skinned woman stalked the dude who had a white wife. That was egregiously bad and the dialogue didn’t do enough to highlight the justifiable anger and hurt that comes with black men “choosing” white women over their own) you don’t do all of that with your power if you just straight up dislike black women.

BUT AGAIN that doesn’t excuse him from the “Woo Is Me. Black Women Didn’t Like Me When I Was 15” pity party that he’s been on for close to a decade. He’s smart enough to know that classifying ALL black women by the few who may have clowned him or rejected him is bullshyt. He doesn’t have any smoke for the black MEN who may have clowned him (early in his music career he actually cited black boys like his cousin who defended him from being ridiculed) so he deserves to be called out. Because his overall PUBLIC attitude towards black women is trolling at its best and soft shoe tap dancing at its worse. The black community (which includes BLACK WOMEN) are the reason he’s in the position he’s in today. Because when white critics were shytting on his music, it was the black publications, including many black women writers, who had his back. When he left Community and created Atlanta, it was BLACK PEOPLE who vouched for the authenticity of the series characters and plots (to his credit he publicly acknowledged that during his Golden Globes speech) I know PLENTY of Black women who love and support Atlanta and even loved him on Community. Black women are not a fukking monolith and he’s GOT to be smart enough to recognize that.

These dudes are a little too extreme in thoughts when it comes to females, people mature with age. Alot of women like the thrill and excitment when they young and get older and look to relax and nothing is really wrong with that.

The real issue is alot of men just aren't living like that anymore so it's a sense of resentment when guys get right and stable and the women come and they at times may not want them or remind them how no other women wanted them when they were younger and broke.

That's really my only issue with the current culture, I'd prefer something a bit more equal to even out the field rather than have 20% eat and 80% suffer, the 80% won't take that too lightly.

Glover just comes acorss as a breh who was disrespected and found the first basic white woman to lay up with and poor his heart out too. I can go to any midwestern state or city and field tons of brehs like glover with some basic white/spanish woman all day.

Tampa is pretty deep on these brehs.
Basically this. The Donald Glover of today isnt who he was before the fame. Especially in his NYU days circa 2006. Black culture was very different back then and from the way Donald looked he didnt fit the mold at all. I can understand if he was ostracized.

Makes sense to me, though its a select group of black girls, The Shameekas and Laqueesha's of the world, find him corny, ala Michael B Jordan, these women deserve to be alone anyway, with idols like Cardi B and Future, its no wonder they think a guy selling crack with a 4th grade reading level, is sexy.

It’s weird b/c I’ve known some blacks that are willing to contribute to their community while still resenting it. Kudos to him for the support, but I think he’s still working through a lotta romantic resentment towards bw that shows in some of his media takes.

I also think part of what compounds his resentment is how he is reinforced for publicizing it. When you get attention and clout for foolishness, many continue to do it. Fame can be a powerful reinforcer for extreme unresolved feelings. I just wish more of us would go to therapy instead of using social media as the psychologists’ chair for attention.

Edit: Oh and Issa Rae is his spirit animal. Same deal. To the point where I was surprised when she ended up marrying somebody black, b/c you can see she carried around a bunch of “woo is me I’m an awkward black chick none of the cool black guys wanted” complex.
