So i have to wash rice? In this thread i was told i don't have to wash it unless i'm picking it from the field. :mindblown:

I wash it when i do I don't like starchy tasting rice. All in your preference

2 cups of water in the pot.

A tablespoon of butter in the pot.

A teaspoon of salt. (Throw a lil pepper in there.)

Stir it for a couple minutes.

Cut the stove on high and let it boil

When it boils throw 1 cup of white rice in the pot SLOWLY while stirring.

Cut the stove on low cover the pot and let it cook for 25 min.

Basically..but I use a lil olive oil instead of butter..and a sprinkle of salt in the water..I like my rice plain..Asian style

This right here caught me off guard and for some reason I read it with a British accent.
Just rinsing it off with water, & drain it off with the lid to not let the rice go down the drain.

If you get the boil in the bag rice that can be microwaved it taste the exact same as cooking it on the stove. I know some things don't taste the same but this is not the case.

I put a little less water cause I don't like my rice too soft.

shyt is so difficult :mindblown: I've followed youtube tutorials, recipe books, even watched my Mom when i was younger. My girl looked at me like i was a Black Feminist when i said i couldn't cook rice and i still can't cook this shyt. Pasta is so easy to cook but rice :whoa:

Cooking ain't for me brehs, i mean i can flip a burger, microwave or toss some shyt in an oven but when it comes to temperatures, measurements and intricate combinations, shyt is too difficult.

fukk rice.
Simple doggy

1 cup of rice
1 cups of water
1 clove
1/2 table spoon of garlic
1/2 cup of baby lima beans
1/2 onion

  1. Chop the onion and fry it with garlic for about 2 minutes
  2. Add the lima beans and let them cook for about a minute
  3. Reduce the heat and add the 2 cups of water and let it start to boil (about 2 mins)
  4. Add the rice and the clove and 1 tea spoon of salt
  5. Cover and SEAL IT (very important if you don't want the rice to be pasty ) :gag:
  6. Let it cook for a good 15-20 minutes under Medium heat or less (less is preferred) Avoid uncovering it.
