So I guess the brown rice pouches I posted are off limits? You seem like you can't get it from the net or others, so get the microwavable pouches and call it a day until someone you know can walk you through it step by step.

You wash rice to remove a lot of the starch, you don't have to though. And it take a special kind of tard to not know how to cook rice- brown I can understand a bit cause it takes dumb long but even a boil-in-bag will get you straight.

Rinse the starch off before boiling. When it boils rinse again using lid to drain water, season, put back on the stove til water cooks out of rice
So i have to wash rice? In this thread i was told i don't have to wash it unless i'm picking it from the field. :mindblown:

Boil in a bag is easy but i'm trying to do the large pot family rice situation.

Start it off with water and olive oil, bring to boil then put the rice in and cover. Ten mins in stir and make sure it isn't sticking, let it absorb the water and reduce to simmer. The trick is to not fully cook it, after about 20 mins you can just let the steam and heat do the rest of the cooking. Just remember to stir.

Haha I don't measure, I'd say about 3-4 cups max, when I first put the rice (2 cups) in there's about a .5 to 3/4 inch gap between the top of rice and the top of the water line.

Edit: on that note, my gma used to make her rice in the oven. This got me thinking I wanna try it out.

The amount of rice you use should be the same for the water
Cup of Rice = Cup of Water
(If it's white rice, rinse the bleach out first and drain. Been fukking with brown rice lately)

Pour both rice and water in pot.
Turn the eye on high, wait for it to boil.
The minute it starts to boil, turn the eye on low, cover and leave it alone and let it cook for 20 minutes.
