I Don't Know If People Understand What is happening in Baltimore

I was a little disappointed by that too. We need more heavy rail tho. The light rail is cool and all, but a subway can move more people much faster. Hogan doesn't want to invest that kind of money in Baltimore for whatever reason.
Well now that's a different subject all together...we both know that ain't gone change tho...

Explain what that means. Because in every other example of gentrification I've seen, the people already there get displaced/kicked out.
That's why their subway is more comprehensive that most cities. Philly, NYC, Boston built subways when the government was giving away money for it. Baltimore was late to the party, and people from the suburbs weren't to happy about the idea of people from the city given such easy access to the county, especially Ann Arundel County. But I will say that the people were the county were justified. Look at what happened to Owings Mills when nikkaz started going out there. Crime went up, nikkaz robbed people walking to and from the train station.
They are going to amalgamate into the greater society.... black schools are going to be shut down and black children transferred to white schools to get them used to each other...
Its happening in a lot of majority black areas in major metros..... they do not want large black blocks of people anymore... you can have black neighborhoods but not major metros.....

John Hopkins has $80 billion just in endowments so they could easily move anywhere else. Obviously they are there because they want to be. What is the reasoning behind keeping an internationally renowned research hospital in the ghetto? They have been taking advantage of poor black people since johns Hopkins himself died. Did you know the medical school was originally a school of eugenics? Have you heard of Henrietta Lacks and her stem cell line making them billions in research funding?
Johns Hopkins Hospital was there before there was a black part of the city to begin with. Before the Great Migration Baltimore was a white city.
There would be a better Lexington Market without the open drug market, and methadone clinic next to it. Actually the current Lexington Market is about to be torn down, and another more modern version will be out in it's place. I hope the do get rid of the unsavory element that lingers around that market. It's bad for tourist to see, which gives pause to a person considering a move to Baltimore.
You can't fix potholes without the money, you don't have money when you have to spend money for extra policing in certain areas of the city because crime is so rampant, or because nikkaz don't work, which means they don't pay taxes, which means the city doesn't get money.
If nikkaz stopped looking at everything in black & white then they would see exactly what the issue is. Fells Point, Canton, Locust Point, Mount Vernon, downtown, Federal Hill, Roland Park, Charles Village, Bolton Hill, Brewers Hill, Patterson Park, Otterbein, Hampden, are successful neighborhoods because the people there are productive. They work, PAY TAXES, so they'll get the city's ear before a lot of other neighborhoods will.
Why does Baltimore have more police per capita than any other city? How come the school board has hundreds of millions of dollars unaccounted for? Between two tunnels and a bridge charging tolls, and the gasoline tax, why does the city have worse roads than 3rd world countries? Do you really think it's cheaper to patch holes indefinitely than repave the road every 20 years?
As long as the government doesn't do their job, they can keep coming back asking for more money. City taxes are high as hell, and they still have to get hundreds of millions from the state just to meet their budget.

Bottom line is we can debate about the reasons of why but Baltimore being fukked up is not for debate. I think it's on purpose, I just can't accept that 40+ years of incompetence and financial mismanagement is just some unfortunate series of random events.
Brah. When hey move in, you are right. They will close black schools. You know why? Because all the black people will be gone because they won't be able to afford the rising property values and/or because of discrimination from landlords(it's happening with New York gentrification right now). There will be no blacks and whites mixed schools.
All the poor people will just move to another area after getting thier homes taken from them and create a new "hood".
