The kids are wrong about this and I refuse to get off of this soapbox.

these little nikkas don’t realize that lyricism is the bar for entry. by saying “I don’t give a fukk about lyrics” you completely remove the bar, and what has filled the void is pure and utter effortless trash. I look at trash like playboi carti who is the poster child for this. That man and his ilk does not care about rap at all, its low effort hyperstylized shyt .

And it’s not even the presence or absence of lyrics that determines effort or not. Nujabes (rip) is one of my favorite artist of all time, half his music is inspired trip-hop ambient that doesn’t feature any lyrics and is mostly looped samples.

But what makes his music noticeable is you can feel the soul and elements of nature and peace he’s trying to convey with his music.

I just find it deflating that the youth only wants music to be an unchallenging experience to vibe to, music to listen to when they’re on their streams or on their phones.

As if the mindless criminality genre just started and hasn’t existed since the 90’s. I’d say it’s been lessened over time compared to the mid 90s. The great escape just came out last year.
Meh, it doesn't matter when the mindless criminality genre started. What matters is that that genre has a Black face, like you said in your earlier post. You were right about that.

Okay, I’m talking about rap as whole though and why the vibe style has managed to dominate over lyrical miracle stuff though. Like in the op’s video.

I'm hip. I was just agreeing with your last sentence in this post...
That's wild, any songs with her on it rapping? Cac's and asians were making beats too when sampling was a thing so that's not unusual. Who is the face of the culture though at the end of the day?
...that says that we're the face of the bullshyt.

And he’s right LOL

Imagine thinking so low of black people that we only can be educated through hip hop/music and not a fukking book

I swear the fukking Simon Biles level gymnastics you c00ns partake in to shyt on black people even if it makes you look absolutely retarded
he’s not right at all.

whether you’re “listening” or not, your subconsciousness definitely hears the content that is being played, digesting its message and inviting it within the deeper layers of your thoughts.

so, a lot of that “vibe” he finds so appealing is joined by lyrics - some of it edifying, much of it toxic - that have an attitudinal and behavioral influence.

this is just a variation on the usual deflection employed by c00ns who don’t think black artists should be held accountable for the messages they broadcast to our people.

:unimpressed:

These dudes not fooling anyone.

They don't want to learn period lol.

I know for a fact they not picking up a damn book.

Prior to 2005, none of those artists would have been able to blow up. Not a single one of them. It was intentional for the low-vibrational music of the mainstream south to blow up because it had the short bus rappers like Gucci Mane running shyt and bringing in New cultural norms like tricking, simping, strip club culture, one syllable rhymes with weak feminine delivery, dudes wearing dresses, and people bragging about what they don't know. Those rappers even give LESS to charity than any other era before them.
