To this DAY Alcorn & Valley hold the record for attendance for a football game in MS. This is when the transition occured for the Ole Pisses & MSU to start targeting our players...they knew we was on the right track.

As for this waiting 4-5yrs to get on TV? Steve McNair brought ESPN, Sports Illustrated, & an live broadcast ABC football game to Alcorn in less time than that.

You get the athletes, the money will come to YOU.

Both of my parents went to HBCUs and are very successful...too bad I was the oldest and grew up in the hood for a little over a decade while my younger siblings only experienced a kush suburban life.

The Steve McNair story is on point and tells you that there is potential there. I was supposed to go to Xavier in New Orleans but only got a partial academic scholarship which ended up being equal to the University of Texas tuition at the time. Being able to experience the college sports atmosphere played a part in my decision to go to Austin instead.

We're not saying you have to, but you should.

The only reason 'we don't is because blacks folks as a whole don't have a plan on what we're doing.

Down here, the white folks walk in lock step, all of their behavior is the exact same in regards to how they deal with black folks.

They 1st all go to church together & don't/won't include you.
2nd they all plan & execute that plan to remove their children from public school as soon as they can. Put them in an 'Academy' & support their colleges Ole Miss/Miss State.

If we do something similar we could change the guard at least a tad.
1st teach this info about our history in church. don't make it hateful just informative. 2nd make sure education is #1 priority, teach about capitalism & that its the only thing that matters in this country.
3. Persuade your child to go to HBCU's, take them to the games, experience the culture of Black Excellence.

4. Don't allow your special athletes to go anywhere else except black schools. (exceptions...your child lives in extreme poverty-dangerous places & is PAID to move his/her family out of there).

If we teach our kids the history of our schools, they would respect them more. Alcorn alone has Greats that have come through the halls of the Reservation.

4. Donald Driver (Green Bay's leading wr in catches)
5. Steve Air Mcnair


As of now Howard puts out the best biology African American Students in the country.

We was just getting out of Jim Crow, getting our feet wet in this 'freedom' thing....but now there are all kinds of ways of expanding your brand. Even as poor as the SWAC is right now they still have their own internet broadcast that shows the Games. It can be done man. It just needs focus.

best believe we would still be sending players to the league too. The NFL don't care where you come from as long as you are good...they will find you & draft you

I feel you I understand everything that you're saying I would love to see HBCUs put out great teams/players on a regular basis. But ask yourself this, why would a top rated recruit pick a Southern over LSU or a FAMU over Florida St?
