I am not surprised that many of us prefer not to see this happen. This is the thinking that has held us back as a people. We need to have a progressive mindset. Some schools will fail, but some schools can succeed...that is the way it is in life. We shouldn't turn down opportunities to join Division 1A sports. Maybe...just MAYBE if it could happen in a few years and you have a son that plays football, he can proudly play for an HBCU and be a part of something bigger than himself.

Should we also stop going to malls and other stores and restaurants b/c we werent allowed to go there for so many years? And while we're giving the white college dollars, they're giving us TV time, exposure to NFL teams, world class training facilities, education.

You know how many years it would take for what ur saying to make any difference? If a bunch of good black atletes went to blacks colleges, it would take 5-6 years for anything to happen in terms of ESPN/FOX, etc beginning to show any real coverage of black schools....whos gonna play with their potential NFL career like that? :upsetfavre:

I wouldn't. The next generation of blacks aren't gonna give a damn about you just like we dont give a damn about it now. :manny:

TV is only partial exposure. Do you know where Regie Mathis, Courtland Finnegan, Demarcus Ware, Shannon Sharpe, Greg Lloyd, etc played?

If you're good, the NFL will find you. This is a multi billion dollar business and an exponential amount of money is spent on scouting and procuring talent.

Also, why should HBCUs be left out of the money. The only reason integration popped off at the secondary institution level is because of the financial windfall that comes with athletics. Blacks been pawns and still continue to be for institutions who genuinely have no concern for them whatsoever outside of their ability and how it translates to dollars....

Ask Kareem how he got talked into going to UCLA

From what I can tell, Mississippi black folks never cared that much for Miss State and Ole Miss anyway

We don't, we look at all those football players with the :snoop:

:stopitslime:

This is the result though when you don't know your history, those kids have no idea how they look playing for Ole Piss

everything you just said is facr but in 2012 them schools wouldn't do ish in college football in the BCS era.
:leostare:

if Black players quit going there they would, black players run those team...imagine the team without those black faces.

Why do you think they raided our Schools & keep trying to close them down...they don't want no more 'Air McNairs' going to Alcorn State.

Whenever black folks understand that we have more power than just voting with our numbers then we will start making some 'power moves'.

Our black althletes need to go to our own colleges. We are giving these white colleges all these damn dollars when we werent even allowed there or play for years.
