Why would you say that? Kids want to be on TV, playing for BCS conferences gives them exposure. If Kansas State which was considered the worst team in D1 in the country for decades could improve, why can't they? We need to stop setting low standards for ourselves. Would you rather play for Kansas State or Howard? :beli:

You're reaching...I have the quote because it fits my lifestyle. I drive foreign whips (supra...which I posted on this site and I own an e-class benz), I deal with mostly foreign women (Ethopian, Nigerian, Carribean, South American, etc) while a wack dude like you only deal with stuck up American broads :scusthov: and my money is tall and is steady growing. I got my own house in an upscale part of town. Houston nikkas will vouch for me. I will say nothing more than that. I do what I want, when I want. Get on my level before addressing a boss like me that owns his own business and teaches young black men how to get theirs without relying on the white man. Only c00n nikkas like yourself disagree with black people needing to aspire for more. :birdman:

I feel you I understand everything that you're saying I would love to see HBCUs put out great teams/players on a regular basis. But ask yourself this, why would a top rated recruit pick a Southern over LSU or a FAMU over Florida St?

Why not?

Dude you looking at present day, I'm talking about a plan that extends, 10 to 30-40,50 years period.

Open your eyes man, have a vision.
Everything doesn't have to be about here and now...some things you have to be unselfish for and think about how things will be after you leave here. This is about leaving something for these kids after we gone. Just imagine how embolden HBCU's would be if black people had pride in themselves in mass. They respected their heritage & felt it was important enough to contribute to it. History shows us that once black people focus on something together ain't nothing CAC's can do to stop it.

which 30-30 are yall talking bout and where are pics of the student body presidents ass?

TV is only partial exposure. Do you know where Regie Mathis, Courtland Finnegan, Demarcus Ware, Shannon Sharpe, Greg Lloyd, etc played?

If you're good, the NFL will find you. This is a multi billion dollar business and an exponential amount of money is spent on scouting and procuring talent.

Also, why should HBCUs be left out of the money. The only reason integration popped off at the secondary institution level is because of the financial windfall that comes with athletics. Blacks been pawns and still continue to be for institutions who genuinely have no concern for them whatsoever outside of their ability and how it translates to dollars....

Ask Kareem how he got talked into going to UCLA

:what:

kareem rarely posts here. why would you tell us to ask him when you could have just told us yourself?

:myman:

Both of my parents went to HBCUs and are very successful...too bad I was the oldest and grew up in the hood for a little over a decade while my younger siblings only experienced a kush suburban life. :why:

The Steve McNair story is on point and tells you that there is potential there. I was supposed to go to Xavier in New Orleans but only got a partial academic scholarship which ended up being equal to the University of Texas tuition at the time. Being able to experience the college sports atmosphere played a part in my decision to go to Austin instead.

Yeah, getting one or two players ok. But getting top recruiting classes is far more difficult and requires some deeeep pockets in football.

I think it would be far easier for HBCU's to focus on b ball, in terms of building large brand.

Bama ass DC

Cause they want to go to a school with great facilities, go against other players who can push them, play for great coaches (insert your Eddie Robinson argument here and I agree he's the goat), go to a school that resembles the real multicultural world.
Instead of bashing these dudes or trying to get them to go all black just be happy they're going to school period and hope they take advantage of it.

Unselfish :heh: this ain't even an issue worth being unselfish about. If I'm a top recruit in sports I'm going to do what's best for me. If me choosing a school is that important people have priorities effed up. It would take entire classes for multiple years and I don't see that happening cause I don't see there being a reason for it to happen.
Like I said just be happy these black men are going to school period and take advantage of it
