I don't think Jason Witten deserves to be in the HOF

I've heard a lot of media talk about how he's a HOFer...even a first ballot HOFer recently. He has all the numbers. 11,215 yards, 1020 recs, 60 TDs.

Still don't think he belongs. I think as a receiver (WR or TE) you have to be weapon that's almost unstoppable to get into the HOF. Shannon Sharpe, Antonio Gates, Kellen Winslow, Tony Gonzalez, Rob Gronkowski were all walking mismatches and potential gamebreakers that could gash you all day and take over a game.

No defensive coordinator was ever like "Guy we really gotta stop Jason Witten. That's the key to victory." Yeah I know he can block. But he's always just been a dink and dunk guy with exceptional whiteness that was just consistent and played forever. He only averaged 11.0 ypc.

You have to put someone in with stats like that. Same with him and TO. When you go back into the record books and see them at the top there is no way you can justify leaving them out. These arguements should only be had for players with borderline stats

Nope. And he was a better receiver than Witten.

I'm comparing to Witten to TEs who are already in the hall and will be. Ditka, John Mackey, Ozzie Newsome, Sharpe, Gonzalez, Gronk, Gates, etc. Witten isn't on any of their level. Sorry. He's just very white and can block.
