Yeah you can go out and get an apartment. It's called pooling resources with friends/sig other.

And people act like college is a God Given right how everyone DESERVES college. If you can't afford it don't go.

And let's not talk about the Millienials that take on loans then don't finish college or get a bs degree and start complaining about how life isn't fair bc I have debt.

You shouldve looked ahead before spending 10s of thousands of dollars to see what that bis administration degree gets u or gen studies.

No one wants to take responsibility or own up to actions anymore. Instead they think they deserve to make 50k right out of high school and own benz and houses.

:pachaha:
It's not that easy, not everyone knows people who are willing to move in with em, among other things

No, teachers and guidance counselors shove college down teenager's throats, people act like if you don't get a degree you're a failure, unlike most people I became a brickmason's apprentice two months after I graduated :sas2:

Why wouldn't they? Y'all act like y'all never had dreams and hopes when you were in your 20's?

Breh I just turned 30. Out of high school I had dreams. Wanted to be successful. I went right into the work force 40 hr weeks bc I didn't have money for college. I worked my way to a direction in life. I bought my first crib at 23. Second this year. I solely provide for my family at this point in my career.

I'm just saying it's not that hard to take accountability as an adult just like every other generation did. There are always outliers like myself and I'm sure people in previous generations but this new generation is a disaster.

Nah, this generation really are a bunch of weird hoes that have emotional and self-esteem issues combined with too much intellectual hubris then wonder why life doesn't fall in their favor.

Nobody wants to hire them because the act of taking orders from a superior triggers them, then they use their flawed logic to rationalize how interactions between them and their superiors = oppression.

There were people like that in every generation but we're reaching a breaking point. I blame media conditioning and social media :coffee:
None of this is true, but believe whatever you want. :yeshrug:

Said every group of people ever, just because "we" aren't getting out there as soon as possible doesn't mean "we're" not being accountable, expect too much from confused college students then wonder why they can't do the same thing you did a decade ago, times are different.

If anything, i'm doing way better than people my age, maybe that's why I cant see what you mean :manny:

I know OP said he's a millennial but this brings up a point i made in another thread, that hardly ever gets talked about outside of The Coli.

It's cool for black ppl to talk about how black millennials are just sorry lazy creatures etc, but nobody talks about the other side of how OLD nikkaS DROPPED THE BALL in the first place, so those of us out here trying to build are literally doing it from scratch. NO OLD nikka passed me down a business or helped me start it. NO OLD nikka even gave me a job. And that's the same case for other black men my age. Guess who gave us a job and other resources we need?

Older black men especially have absolutely NO ROOM to talk, but they're usually the most vocal about how young nikkas ain't shyt. :pachaha:

Their sons, nephews, grandsons, etc are out here with no businesses, no resources, no land, no trust fund, not even a share of stock passed down from these nikkas, but they have so much to say about how "spoiled" we are

Everything we got we had to go to non black people for. And you expect us to kiss your ass? For what? :bryan:Old nikkas are the ones who are really entitled. They feel entitled to praise and getitng their ass kissed even though they didn't pass down shyt.

Even though there are some who do feel entitled...as a whole, black millennials don't feel "entitled" to shyt...because we didn't ever get shyt from our "elders" in the first place. Entitled to WHAT? We never got "handed" shyt in the 1st place so most of us don't even know what that's like. We didn't get any businesses from you nikkas. No jobs from you nikkas. No property. No trust fund. No help. We're out here trying to get it ourselves AND helping your old, ungrateful asses. Old nikkas have it backwards. They thought they weren't supposed to pass anything down and that it's their offspring's job to pass them something out of thin air. It's harder to build when you weren't even given something to work with in the first place.

I grew up with a mix of friends of diff backgrounds because of the school i attended.....know how many of my asian, white, arab etc friends took over the family business, or at least got a job working for people who looked like them?

Compare that to how many of my black male friends, relatives etc who didn't. All of us had to go to non black people for jobs. We never complained, we did what we had to do, but old nikkas need to stop trying to re-write history. Most of our "elders" dropped the ball. They don't know anymore than we do. They're nearing retirement age and still don't even understand the system.

:gucci: Exactly. I kept hearing :flabbynsick: nikkas in school talking so much shyt about the students, like breh, you're a fukking security guard who acts like playing football here years ago meant something :mjlol:

Sad thing is, I got my apprenticeship through a Nicaraguan guy and the breh teaching is Bermudian, I'm getting more contacts and potential job offers from them :francis:

Most of the people who put me onto stuff were West Indians and cacs :snoop:

Like I said nikkas wanna argue with nikkas that obviously done more than them and seen more than them.
That intellectual hubris :wow:, nikkas think cause they went to/currently in college nobody can tell them shyt. That ivory tower isn't the real world breh.

Want to put peers on game but they obviously know better.

:scust::scust::scust::beli::trash::snoop:

Despite being one myself, I can't deal with the 'everything needs to be handed to me on a platter mentality'. As a collective simple life skills are greatly lacking and I just feel it is going to get worse.

My breh just called me to help him setup something and I'm like breh, all the info is on Youtube...he couldn't even be bothered to watch a 5 min video, he wanted my help :camby::camby::camby: get off my phone.

I run a business and some of the resumes I see it is just :mindblown::mindblown::mindblown:, like there is the IDGAF attitude that you see in people who are supposed to be college educated. Let me not even talk about the interviews!

let me not even start on the look at me, attention whoring,, insta thot, everyone is a star mentality:damn::damn:

Yeah, better to just get an education for 4 years of your life so you can not be automatically purged by a computer looking through resumes.

Better to not get hassled by police for "loitering"

Better to pull myself up by my bootstraps while the baby boomers got 1% interest rates on their federally backed homes which they then use to start businesses for their kids through second mortgages.

Better to work 80 hours a week for the same wages a baby boomer made in 35 because "capitalism."

Better to pay 3x more money for a fukking chocolate bar because the government bans the importing of Brazilian sugar so we must pay for sugar products from LOUISIANA at outrageous prices because they suck at mass producing sugar, but that kind of government interference is perfectly fine because it helps the older generation get rich while the younger generation gets screwed and is straight up Socialism FOR THE FEW.

The "free market" is a term used to hide the fact the older generations get massive handouts while the younger generation is literally BANNED from buying products that would be cheaper in the world economy.

In other words...

fukk you homie:camby:

Since it gets said so much, i'd like to know specifically, how is the older crowd so much more superior to milennials? :jbhmm: What have they done, in all their years on this earth (remember, they've been alive much longer than us and should be in a better position than we are overall), that's so much better than what millennials are doing?

They aren't in any position to point the finger at millennials. nikkas out here twice my age still dependent on cacs for jobs, still haven't set anything up for anyone, still don't get it, yet talking shyt like they built something and we came along and "squandered" it away :laff: the only thing you nikkas passed down is stories about how you were "that nikka" back in the day, the cars you drove and the hoes you were running through. The nerve of these old ass nikkas yo.

A lot of the "men" didn't even raise their kids in the same house, let alone set up anything for them. I know this may come as a surprise to older black ppl, but yes, you WERE supposed to provide something for black kids so that they wouldn't have to depend on white ppl for a job, a loan, place to live etc.
