Simple fact is everyone is a slave but people don't admit it because they lust after whips and chains to build their self esteem when the ones who felt whips and chains for real knew the game and would do anything to be free.

The system is designed to keep you poor.

Agreed. West Oakland is being gentrified like crazy. Some years back I tried to get brothers to form an investment group to cop a piece of property or two. Let's hire an attorney and pool our resources. These niccas rather buy cars and max out credit cards doin stupid shyt. Now property in that area is unattainable because of the price. Folk complaining about gentrification holding picket signs n shyt, but when it comes time to get in the game and make a move niccas got cold feet. So I made the move myself and bought way the fukk out. I made some bread but would have quadrupled my cash in Oakland. We could have reinvested and bought more property and renter out units. So sometimes you have to do it by yourself. And in a situation like this there is nothing wrong with that. Like minded people to exchange ideas will change your life
It's tough to get everyday people to get interested / understand investing...good on you for trying though :salute:

A big part of it is that you've got to have a basic "against the herd" mindset to really outperform in the investing world. The biggest gains get made when folks are screaming and running for the exits, panic selling, etc.

By default, most people are going to go with the herd...it's just human nature. So when it's a good time to buy, your friends are looking at you crazy :francis:

Folks have to survive and this lifestyle provides it. When you don't have worry about survival so much if ever, you can have the option to do what you like and make 9-5 or whatever something enjoyable.

Facts. It really helps to be able to flex your schedule around - breaks up the monotony and lets you have some time in "off-peak" hours to run errands.

You end up with more free time because you aren't commuting during rush hour, and the free time you do have is higher-quality.

100.

Employers are opening up a lot more to it everywhere too because they see the productivity increase and employees are much happier in general. Not having to stress about other things you want to do while at work, but instead doing it and getting back to work is a different level of productivity and happiness. I'll have a hit of inspiration/curiosity sometimes and make a beat, then after about 30 minutes feel refreshed and get back to work which will then be of much more quality.

I'm trying to tell brehs/brehettes the end of the day you need to have the skills to get those jobs though, so make it your responsibility to get there.

I feel you breh but I also gotta remind myself of the benefits I get from a 9-5. I know that all my evenings are gonna be free to do mostly whatever I like. I guess I just don't believe the perfect job exists out there. No matter what you do in life, you are gonna wake up on some random Tuesday mad as hell you HAVE to go do something. But we are all in it. Can't let how you're feeling make you ignore the realities that we are all living with. I don't say that to never try and improve yourself or your situation, but just learning to appreciate the situations you are in because everything is gonna suck and when it comes to work, it's gonna be one of those things that is always getting in the way.

But I got benefits, PTO, I don't get micromanaged, I get treated like an adult and try to do the work well while I'm there. A job is a necessity but it doesn't define my life. Who I am and what I choose to do with my time and energy is what matters to me so the 9-5 I have now allows me to live a life I can enjoy while pushing for more.
Same here. I'm off at 4pm everyday, 15-20 drive from home, and I'm able to run errands AND entertain myself during the week.

I don't even think about work once I clock out. I don't even get "Sunday Evening Blues" as others mentioned. I make the most of my free time.

In fact, here is my agenda for this afternoon (with approximate times)

4:25: Arrive at the bike trail and go for a 2-3 mile run
5:00: Head to the gym and get a few reps in
5:30: Stop at the home improvement store (sweaty) to get a few tools
5:45: Go to the crib, shower up and chill for a minute
7:00 - 7:30: Me and a female are going out to a Japanese Food restaurant about 20 minutes away.
9:00 - 9:15: Back home to catch the 2nd half of the NBA Finals
11:00: Smash and Sleep

Switch it up from time to time.
New city, new job, new challenges.
Build a house Or start a family. Children are fun because they have yet to realize how garbage life is. They really excited for capri sun, slides and cartoons.
I live for my daughter nowadays, seeing her happy is all I got. Nothing else does it for me anymore for the most part, im just going through the motions.
Still hustling for more money, still having sex, still travelling but its really just out of boredom. Im sort of over life...... There is just no other option but to keep livin....so on we go.

Who got money for children :stopitslime:

If their "corniness" is all you have to worry about, you have it good.

In my experience, there's inevitably an old, fat, white graybeard who can't stand that you exceed him in any personal quality he covets, so here comes the "microaggressions" and games to humiliate you and isolate you among your coworkers should you push back.

It's happened to me enough times that I wonder wtf other black men must go through, yet I honestly don't hear many black men talk about similar experiences online or off.

I sometimes wonder what most black men are talking about when they gripe about "racism", because so many seem so comfortable snuggled up under white men in the workplace.

...In my experience, white men in the workplace seem to be reliably on the "envious bully" tip. ...And I've seen other black men (particularly young black men) find themselves targeted by this bullshyt too.

...So please VOTE IN the circumstances that will make it easier for you go independent if need be.

You might never make the plunge, but your sons really need that option.

Bernie Sanders wants us to have universal health care (just like most other modern industrial nations).

Universal health care (aka "single-payer" aka "Medicare for All") will mean one less huge expense you'll have to struggle with should you decide one day to go independent. You and your children should not have to depend on envious devils in the workplace for something as critical as healthcare.

Sanders also wants you to have free higher education, which will help you update your skills should you need to flee some devil who wants to make things hard for you just because you're a young black man, or should your skills simply become outdated.

... Otoh, maybe your experiences are not like mine. Most black men seem perfectly comfortable working with white men as bosses, or even white women, or even gay white men.

I've had all three kinds of bosses, :merchant:so you can see where my politics come from.

...Not to mention the coworkers who KNOW that the corporate environment is not inclined to be fair to a young black man who ain't having it and fights back.

If you want to be free, you have to make moves to be free -- big and small. If "9 to 5" is fukking with you, and you know it's not good for your mental, physical and spiritual health, vote for policies that will give you options, like universal health care and free higher education.

Sorry to write a fukkin book, but this is relevant to the issue. Thanks for reading. :salute:
Go to YouTube and look for a Channel called "Mr H Fox" and look for a C. O. W. S (Context Of White Supremacy) programe called "workplace racism".... Depressing and relatable weekly programme for you that you work in a square plantation

You don’t have to like the rules of this realm we’re in, but you have to function within it to survive.

Get a new job, if your current job is driving you to be depressed and anxious, and you’re surrounded by crappy people...you are right, that’s not what you should be doing. A new job and environment can change things completely.

I accept that I have to work to survive, I’ve worked hard for many years and am in a comfortable space and I don’t have to work nearly as many hours as I used to.

Lot of folks don’t EVER want to work, they don’t want to put in the time and effort it often takes to establish a comfortable lifestyle. They all want to just be rich with no effort on their part, like y’all are entitled to it.

Again you can delude yourself all you want, but this realm is established the way it is and you can’t oppose it.

Might as well accept it and manipulate it to work for you as much as possible.

I agree that is is a big video game...you gotta level up. When life is mundane and like Groundhog Day everyday, it’s easy to lose meaning to life, especially if you hate your job and folks you work with.

I’d recommend forming a personal relationship with Jesus. Look at everyday as a new opportunity to repent and accept his gift of salvation. Consider yourself fortunate that you are still breathing, that you are given a new chance everyday to atone for past sins and discontinue committing them.

All of this other crap in the matrix is solely to distract you from Jesus and God. Don’t get caught up in the patterns of this world, strive to live everyday righteously...I think that is the way to win this game.

I remember how relieved I was when they laid us off in 2012. I was so ready to leave that job. Now I'm feeling like I did then. Just wanting change. Over the mundane work and fake people I work with.

The more things change...
