Just pointing out how the weekend/club culture plays into it all breh. We get caught with having something to "do" on the weekend a lot without realizing the shyt is basically meant to be cathartic-- since we're not really supposed to be able to do anything any other time of the week.
Yup. Spot on. I catch myself thinking like that and just cut it as soon as I realize that thought process.

We are programmed to look forward to tha weekend as soon as we start school. Then that 8 hours starts...and it drains ya ass every damn day.

I notice no one said nothin bout my lil number post above. Yall should really look into that shyt cuz I didnt do it justice.

When people speak a lil crazy like that...no one likes to listen for some reason. Well fukk that, I listen to anything that sounds crazy beause as ya come to find out (if youre on tha path of knowledge), tha truth is always much crazier than fiction.

Numbers are here and exist for a reason. They are literally a language. We do not work 8 (eight) hour shifts (or 10 or 12) for no reason.

Mane time aint even...sigh nvm.

Ima stfu tho cuz im bout to derail tha thread.

I feel you breh but I also gotta remind myself of the benefits I get from a 9-5. I know that all my evenings are gonna be free to do mostly whatever I like. I guess I just don't believe the perfect job exists out there. No matter what you do in life, you are gonna wake up on some random Tuesday mad as hell you HAVE to go do something. But we are all in it. Can't let how you're feeling make you ignore the realities that we are all living with. I don't say that to never try and improve yourself or your situation, but just learning to appreciate the situations you are in because everything is gonna suck and when it comes to work, it's gonna be one of those things that is always getting in the way.

But I got benefits, PTO, I don't get micromanaged, I get treated like an adult and try to do the work well while I'm there. A job is a necessity but it doesn't define my life. Who I am and what I choose to do with my time and energy is what matters to me so the 9-5 I have now allows me to live a life I can enjoy while pushing for more.

The unabomber was right, It was just his methods that were incorrect and unfortunately he decided that violence was necessary to prove his point. All it did was tarnish his legacy.

I'm not advocating Anarcho-primitivism, That is too extreme, But rather we should create legislation that leads to greater work-life balance and allows humans to explore and focus on more creative endeavors.

Every single fukking solution is literally just a return to the mean, Minimalism, Niksen, Meditation, Getting away from social media and into social situations, being active and solving problems in groups.

I currently make over 6 figures but working a 9-5 makes all this money pointless, I rarely have anytime to explore and the IT work I do is meaningless, I very rarely get to solve any problems because all the seniors in the company have another 10-15 years of working before they retire.

Even after they retire, my generation may have to work into their 80s to be able to afford to live with inflation and the increased social security age. This means that the generation under millennials will be doing menial work until their 40s-50s at least, Coupled with student loan debt and you're going to have a very cynical and depressed generation, the seeds have been planted and we see it starting already.

It is improbable that we all become entrepreneurs, but we can work toward a more sustainable lifestyle for everyone by abolishing the 40hr work week, Implementing more automation to reduce costs, and teaching people to stray away from rampant consumerism. Then we can focus on creating technologies and lifestyles that work in harmony with nature. The norweigian countries have system in place that blows the US out of the water. and as a result they are generally happier.

Money without purpose is useless and that's all america is currently. A bunch of rich cynics.

Being a Petroleum Engineer (if you don't know what that means...LOOK IT UP :myman:) can be stressful especially during the evening up doing calculations, paper work etc and in the daytime I'm doing a lot of hard construction work but I guess it's worth it since I'm making well over six figures :win:.

Yea that one. I would elaborate but...been there done that. As soon as I get to talmbout certain shyt people shut their ears off.

I had to realize certain knowledge really is for only a select few, which is why its hidden, coded and you have to jump thru hoops to obtain it then you have to jump thru even more to understand it.

If their "corniness" is all you have to worry about, you have it good.

In my experience, there's inevitably an old, fat, white graybeard who can't stand that you exceed him in any personal quality he covets, so here comes the "microaggressions" and games to humiliate you and isolate you among your coworkers should you push back.

It's happened to me enough times that I wonder wtf other black men must go through, yet I honestly don't hear many black men talk about similar experiences online or off.

I sometimes wonder what most black men are talking about when they gripe about "racism", because so many seem so comfortable snuggled up under white men in the workplace.

...In my experience, white men in the workplace seem to be reliably on the "envious bully" tip. ...And I've seen other black men (particularly young black men) find themselves targeted by this bullshyt too.

...So please VOTE IN the circumstances that will make it easier for you go independent if need be.

You might never make the plunge, but your sons really need that option.

Bernie Sanders wants us to have universal health care (just like most other modern industrial nations).

Universal health care (aka "single-payer" aka "Medicare for All") will mean one less huge expense you'll have to struggle with should you decide one day to go independent. You and your children should not have to depend on envious devils in the workplace for something as critical as healthcare.

Sanders also wants you to have free higher education, which will help you update your skills should you need to flee some devil who wants to make things hard for you just because you're a young black man, or should your skills simply become outdated.

... Otoh, maybe your experiences are not like mine. Most black men seem perfectly comfortable working with white men as bosses, or even white women, or even gay white men.

I've had all three kinds of bosses, :merchant:so you can see where my politics come from.

...Not to mention the coworkers who KNOW that the corporate environment is not inclined to be fair to a young black man who ain't having it and fights back.

If you want to be free, you have to make moves to be free -- big and small. If "9 to 5" is fukking with you, and you know it's not good for your mental, physical and spiritual health, vote for policies that will give you options, like universal health care and free higher education.

Sorry to write a fukkin book, but this is relevant to the issue. Thanks for reading. :salute:
Bernie Sanders doesn't support reparations for ADOS, scoffing at its mere suggestion when mentioned, treating ADOS as if we're not the product of a unique history which separates us from the so-called "working class" (read: non-wealthy white people) he's fighting for. And :mjlol: @ thinking free higher education will unchain black people from low wage 9-5 enslavement, when black college graduates are routinely the victims of hiring discrimination, suffering from high rates of unemployment in comparison to their white counterparts with similar educational backgrounds.
