Better skilled as in shooting and dribbling.

Remember just back in the day BIG MEN where taught NEVER to dribble the ball or bring it down full court and don’t shoot nothing outside of 8-10ft range.

Now big men are taking it coast to coast, crossing cats up and shooting from long range

Cartwright, Manute Bol, Shremf, Divac, and a bit of other men ain’t starting in this era, yet alone getting burn

The neccessary skills for the game has change, so therefore for this style of play these guys are better than the guys before them

Martha
Thank you basketball biggest evolution is the big man. They have so much freedom now more than ever. I think coaching has gotten much better so the nba players are more refined in areas that matter the most

This is a dumb ass post...

Ingram is actually skilled in the post, he's just 6'11 190 pounds :mjlol:

Lowry pound for pound is one of the strongest guards in the game at 6'1 and probably around 210 pounds (VanVleet and Paul who you mentioned are also stocky with great hands). He used his low center of gravity, his strength, and his quick hands to poke the ball loose from Ingram. Not only that but O.G. Anunoby provided help defense on the play swiping with his absurd 7'6 wingspan. Also, Danny Green is watching the play which would potentially been called an illegal defense in the 90's, the Raps built a wall or a zone around Ingram because of the mismatch.

But you 90's stans don't know the game so I wouldn't expect y'all to know any of this :manny:

90's stans act like players then executed on 100% of their mismatches in the post :mjlol:

If anything this proves our point that players are more skilled than ever. The player you are highlighting is 6'11 with athleticism, shooting, and post skills and has even shown the ability to play point forward and he literally just turned 21 years old last month.

Jokic fat ass is getting triple doubles every month, but shrempf and divas ain’t getting burn?

The same divac that started against prime shaq?

Y’all don’t watch basketball and you don’t even have the decency to look sh*t up so you’re not 100 percent ignorant
I disagree that Divac and Shrempf wouldn't get burn today, they would.

But, Jokic is far better than Divac. :francis:

And AD is more talented than Barkley. :hubie:

I miss bball from the 80s and 90s but back then a lot of the bench guys were bruiser, enforcer types or just random bigs.

There more athletic and better shooter, very rare does any player know how to post, back in the day anybody over 6’3 can post up a mismatch
Its actually a great example. While not every player that came in to the NBA could post up like MJ could from the get go, in the past most players did know the basics of posting up and could easily take advantage of a smaller defender
This isn't true though. :heh:

We've got players like Kuzma, Tatum, Booker coming into the league with footwork and advanced post skills. :francis:

Basically all of the good wings in the league have a post game (DeRozan, Butler, Middleton, Durant, James, Leonard, Giannis, Klay, etc.)

It's just not as frequent a play type as it once was, P&R's are more effective, post ups can drain the shot clock, and it's easier to defend because of zone.

Barkley would bust every forwards ### in the game today you sound like a casual

it's a shame young nikkas today know nothing about how great charles was.
barkley was nasty. he could do everything.

he lost a step or two here, but he had a flawless offensive game

he could turn around and fade all day 1:06
beautiful step back at 2:12, and no harden didn't invent step back
fade and counter and gets his own rebound - how he gets so many rebounds 2:20
palm fake bank shot at will 4:30
baseline spin move reverse 4:55
fade J on much taller and longer cwebb 5:10

those are unguardable fundamental moves. barkley knows how to use his body. ain't nobody can guard barkley 1 on 1. barkley was unique offensive machine.

and he is lazy on D, so he would fit right in :russ:

We specifically said switches

I wasn’t implying that divac was better (he’s not)

I’m just saying if bad built unathletic jokic can take over games, you’d be tripping to think divac isn’t at the very least a contributor

Where did I say AD wasn’t more talented? He damn sure ain’t a better rebounder, that’s not even debateable

People can sweat Flo Jo but I remember slim full body suit 84 Flo to suddenly brolic 88 Flo. She was on something. :manny:
She was all natural. She was singled out for rigorous testing due to steroid rumors.

...... That's kind of contradictory hahahaha
I see what your saying, its hard to compare era's. I always try to prove myself wrong before i say things

Its tricky because teams going small has created more opportunities for wings. The power forward and center positions have been impacted the most. I think the best way to put it is every era had different rules that require different skill sets
