80% of his rhymes is sht about how he better than the rest of the rappers

Jay cares about winning where it actually matters..stats

There was an interview where Jay's claim of being the best rapper wasnt claims of his techniques being better than anthers but rather him having the best stats

And have u listened to KC? AG? BP3?

Jay came at those who came at him, and "WHat we talkin bout"(the song) leads me to further my point on how ultimately those rappers lost in sales

And that Jay is still winning

Jay still sees rap as competitive..and he's trying to go down as the #1 rapper based on stats

But skills don't sell, making hits, getting cats to feel like they can relate to what you're saying, look up to you, having the freshest shyt and shyt like that sells. Does it make good music? Yes it does, can street shyt be better than socially conscious music? History says yes.
BP didn't move half a million in a week of crisis cause it was a classic. But because it had commercial hits and all the other shyt that makes one move records.

nikkas take one Jay-z line which is blended in amongst a bunch of metaphors and treat it as literal as the law. But all the lines where he says he's the best, the most lyrical, the best flow, the realest and all other shyt he said were just bs.

He never has or never will be able to rhyme like Common TBH...it was a bullshyt line to shut up his critics and everyone, including myself, ate it up.

I ain't even mad at Hov though, TBA still a certified classic to me.

If Jay consistently dropped verses like this I'd probably put him above Nas on my list of fav emcees


but he doesn't so he'll continue to remain below Esco on my all time list
