The South, specifically? Cuz his bread and butter, outside of bragging, is rapping about slangin and all the peripheries around it, just from a NY perspective.

He's made plenty of "crew love" songs through out his career, otherwise.

He turned the biting up, he went from borrowing Big's lines to his voice

To his credit tho Jay rapping about Americans obsessing with Miley Cyrus and owning Basquiat paintings = "being deep". So in his mind he is rapping like Common
