They got me a few years ago. Talking about a unpaid bill from when I was 18. They told me I owed $210, I told them I would give them $75 to settle on the spot.:yeshrug:

they can only garnish wages if they win a case against you in court. i think the feds are the only ones that can just straight up garnish. Like with student loans or if you owe taxes.

thats only with cell phone, cable bills, etc. as far as I know. credit card companies don't play that. but yours was a really small debt so maybe exceptions.

U think they would drop the lawsuit if I negotiate something wit them on the phone :lupe:
Yes. Basically try to negotiate not paying the interest on the debt and then pay what you actually owe. If not they will file a lien and begin going after whatever money they can get outta you. You dont want to get to court. You want to begin paying.

You will need to talk to the attorney handling the suit he'll tell you how much it is
Say its to much and your broke and struggling because of responsible activities
They will ask how much you can pay
They will put you on a monthly payment. They will tell you to borrow money. THey will threaten you with how shytty your life will be if you dont pay
You will get into a negotiating phase and ultimately you may end up paying around 60-70 percent of the debt depending on how good you are with negotiating.
You dont have to do it all in one call.
If you havnt been making monthly payments leading up to the lawsuit then you will not have a leg to stand on and may potentially get railroaded into a fukkin wall.
These people are not nice.

@BarNone help this dude.

But they DO. Unlike the coli nikkas I live in a real world. I'm not a millionaire and I don't have certs so I know what bills are. My girl co signed for her pops to get a car 8 years ago. He died and the car got repo'd. Last year they asked my girl to pay the remaining $8,000. They said they would take $150 payments every month for however long she said no.Around September she got a call from another debt agency talking about give them $1,200 and they'll call it even.

Call them and try to settle breh. Most credit card companies usually just charge off an account after a period of time. Just cut their losses. You must owe enough for them to take it there. :manny:

Either way you good breh. Most likely they'll settle. If not and you have to go to court it will probably go to arbitration and be settled.

Only thing you got to be mindful of is the terms of settlement. Say they settle for $1000. You have to pay that off in a set time frame. 3 months or so. Very important that you ask how long you can get to pay it off.

thats a extraordinary circumstance. she had a legit excuse.

but yeah a lot of companies will make a deal. cuz they not gonna waste the time or money to try to collect thousands of debts. Its not real money anyway, its just a number on a damn computer when you think about.
