I studied for 1.5 months. I got my 35 credit hours with a Joseph Phillips course that I got on sale for $15. I used Rita Mulcahey’s and Andy Crowe’s pmp prep book I found online for free. Then I paid for an exam simulator called prep cast for $130. I could’ve taken it sooner but I just didn’t feel like rescheduling

- It was MUCH easier than I expected.
- No EVM formula questions.
- a few float questions.
- I took it from home, using the Pearson website. Someone monitors you the whole time using a webcam. You have to take photos of the environment to verify there’s no cheatsheets around. I put my hand over my mouth while thinking over a question...the proctor messaged me tellling me to move my hand.


I took the Udemy prep course. It was only $12 and it included the 35 classroom hours required for the test.

I used the pocket prep and PMI prep apps to run through test questions.

The PMP exam changed its format on 1/1/21. Make sure the course covers the new stuff.

Congratulations. I took in March and failed. But I also didn’t study. My company pays so I took it more so to see the format and get a feel to ease my anxiety about. That’s a great accomplishment.

I applied to at least 30 PM positions at Amazon over the last few months…never heard anything back. My second week of work at my new gig, I get an email directly from an Amazon hiring manager asking if I’m interested in a Program Manager position

I just got promoted to Program Manger from Sr. PM and I still haven’t passed the PMP. The promotion was offered so I took it but don’t really care like that. I’m kinda over corporate and thinking about transitioning out. Starting my own consulting firm and using my PM skills there. If I retake the PMP it will be strictly for appearances. I do have my SCRUM Master though.

I’ve heard the new exam format is much easier. If that helps anyone.
