The tips are not the purpose of this thread though.

Then thread and tweet are disingenuous. She was trying to imply that she only made $9.21 on for 2 weeks of work. She’s a server, servers get paid largely from tips. If this is a thread about server compensation and the importance of tipping, why aren’t we talking about how tips make up all of her income?

No they were saying this is why people need to tip because if she did not receive tips then she would only make $9.21 for 72 hours of work.

Are you retarded?

If she served everyone in this thread she would probably only receive tips from two people based on the replies.

How about these restaurants pay them a reasonable wage?

I tip all the time, no problem. But let's be real the real issue is not the tipping. Tips should be the cherry on top for any "tip" job...

Bullshyt as society where we blame the tippers and not the establishments. It starts there....

blame both :manny:

She would not of received $9.72 if she didn’t receive any tips. She would of gotten the federal minimum wage. Employers are required to pay their workers minimum wage if the workers hourly wage + tips is below minimum wage.
