There's absolutely nothing "prime" about prime rib. :scust::camby:
I get your sentiment breh, but the prime is actually the usda grade of the beef. If it was anything other (select or choice)
then it is just called a standing rib roast.

Edit- hmm, reading into this I got that wrong. Supposedly the term predates the usda classification system so the usda allows other grades to be referred to as prime rib. Buyer beware, rock on breh

Below is a select grade ribeye roast I cut up around xmas. My preference is NY strip, but the price was good. Plus I like to do something else with the ribs. Oh and the best part of the ribeye is that small outer piece right before that nasty hunk of useless fat, I see it called the ribeye cap. Some places have begun rolling it up (secured with twine) and cooking separately.

I'm sorry, but I am not a fan of prime rib. However, if I eat it, then I need my piece to be put on a grill. That's what I do when I get some @ a buffet.

Nah.

They have a grill at the buffet. You just ask then to put your meat (pause) on the grill, if you wish? That is what I do, if I want a piece of prime rib.
