I never understood why people say Witcher 3 combat is wack

a new game plus with the dismemberment % cranked up to 100, its a power fantasy for me.
Enjoyed the combat alot,

Hate health sponge combat systems though, i usually dial up or down the settings and slider to ensure i can one shoot people if i hit them in the face with a sword.
Reason why Ghost of Tsushima is goated.

anygame where you have to do 15 hit combos to take down an enemy is trash to me

Witcher 3 really ain't spongey once you get the right stats. And it only makes sense for monsters to be health sponge

I agree with Ghost of Tsushima though. Their combat system is perfection.

It's not that bad, but it's not really good either. Serviceable is definitely the correct word to use on that. And the last few Assassin's Creed games definitely have better combat. Sure, they're definitely not better overall games, but that's not my stance here.

assassins creed combat is trash now. They ruined their combat system. It used to be so cinematic before. I prefer the counter system and timing. If they want to make it more of a challenge just make it harder to judge the timing like in the game GOT.

Now it feel like you are fighting with a nerf bat.

It's a 10 year old game. Curious to see how much more they update it with Witcher 4. I doubt it will be much better, maybe besides work on the jankiness people complain about.

I wasn't saying witcher 3 was spongey, i like their combat system and like you said it gets better as you upgrade. and yeah i agree that large monster should be able to take more blows.

Right, combat isn’t bad enough to take away from the story/lore/sidequest and overall game, and the combat in those other games aren’t enough to put the overall games above witcher 3.

Ehh...depends on what you playing these games for. Outright storytelling and immersion, yeah, W3 washes pretty much all of those, easily. But I'd rather actually PLAY at least half of those games now than I would Witcher 3 at this point because the combat is quite a bit better in most of those games.

Hopefully 4 is a remarkable improvement in combat tho. I'm invested enough in the other aspects of Witcher to be interested for sure.

Ass creed gameplay in general is very shallow. It looks/feels good but it’s almost on rails at times.

Witcher 3 feels more “clunky” but it’s lots deeper and something i’d rather come back to over the ass creed games.

Over earlier Ass Creed games, I'd mostly agree. Shadows is definitely better than W3 combat tho. It also takes some time to get there tho, but that's cuz of how weird and linear it's character progression system is for skill tree upgrades.

Nah it's garbage. You'd rather come back to it for everything else though, like the cutscenes, story and over world. The combat isn't why this game is praised.

I didn’t say the combat is why the game is praised.

The combat isn’t why ass creed is praised either.

I like RPG stuff so playing around with the powers and making different builds is enjoyable to me even if it doesn’t feel or look as flashy as other games

CDPR are evolving

i expect witcher 4 to be a genuinely good action game

After they lie about the features in the game, change the pov, have bugs that can literally break your hardware and get it taken off the ps store, only fix shyt in the game that never should have been broken in the first place, not release half the dlc they say they will, and then move on to something else to do it all again
