I own a PS4 & 70 games, Switch & 20: ZELDA BOTW is the best game of both consoles by a huge gap.

I spent hours completing all the big guns on PS4 the past few years - Classics like RDR2, GTA, GOW, Ghost and every one of them is a 10/10 ... But I am now playing Zelda for a 2nd time (Master Mode) and if there was such a thing as a super tier 10/10 this is it.

I cant work out why its so far ahead of the others, it may be as simple as the satisfaction of finding a treasure chest...
But that right there even after the 100th time > any other game this gen.

While the use of elements and game engine is just so advanced its crazy. You know I still don’t understand how the heck they made a game this advanced and adult in gameplay technique. It’s got more layers than RDR2, Ghost and GOW put together with change.

Anyway just my thoughts.
I cannot recommend this game enough, especially while we are all stuck in waiting for covid to subside.

I can't argue with you, it does so many things right, and and even the things that are kind of annoying like inventory management and weapon decay add a bit of a skill check.


There are great 10/10 games, and genre defining ones

BOTW is a genre defining one, it spawned clones that are popular off its frame work.


Nintendo really drops genre defining games on "under powered" systems all the time.

It's kinda nuts when you think about the track record and history.


When I think of great console games of last gen, botw, yakuza 0 and gow4 are the games that come to mind 1st

I was done with zelda series after twilight princess but Breath of The Wild re-lit that spark for me. I was one of those people where Ocarina of Time was the most hyped game ever for me leading to it's release and I honestly didn't love it as much as other people did, especially that damn water temple. Something about 3d zelda games haven't clicked with me outside of BoTW and Wind Waker.

OoT is also when I lost interest in Zelda series. BOTW did bring me back. It's definitely a classick and top 10 game of the generation, tho I'm not nearly as compelled to replay it as I thought I would be after beating it. I think they dropped the ball on adding some proper post-game content.

considering grown ass men on this very forum can't complete the first level of demon's souls I don't think it's that suprising aniche game on a console very few people can get isn't flying off the shelves.

every other game up there is cross gen including BOTW
