I own a PS4 & 70 games, Switch & 20: ZELDA BOTW is the best game of both consoles by a huge gap.

I have over 125hrs of BOTW on my first run and still not done with it yet.

Ocarina of Time is the GOAT to me, but I still haven't played BOTW. Maybe it was all the criticism about there being no temples, which is what made OOT so great to me. Then I seen a clip of link riding a motorcycle and I was like ......Whenever I see clips link is just riding around in a big ass empty world. Seems like people love it more just because of how interactive the world is. Which is cool. But what about the story?.....I wanna know specifically what makes the game fun aside from being able to cut down a tree for some firewood. But the no temples shyt really turned me off from the get go.

what makes the game fun (and a GOTY recipient btw) is the complete open ability to play the game how you see fit...it’s really that simple...you don’t have to like it or feel the need to be “convinced” that you should...just actually try playing it for yourself and judge it off that...only then can you experience the total freedom it gives you that previous open world don’t provide and decide for yourself if it’s fun or not

I can see how folks don't care for it but it's personally one of the greatest games I've ever played. The exploration is really what makes it special in my opinion, along with the gameplay and soundtrack.


I'd make a fresh cup of coffee in the morning and sit and play this shyt for hours. One of the GOAT experiences.

Exactly. Was playing Immortal Fenyx Rising and my kid was like, "daddy, why don't you play Zelda instead?"

I was like, "you know what, you're right"

We then proceeded to play BOTW for 3 hours. Game is absolute piff. Will beat it again with the kiddos

Nintendo has an obsession with stingy weapon durability. Its a bad mechanic

That's half the reason why the game is boring. You never want to fight an enemy because your weapon will break and enemies are sponges in this game. You go through 2 or 3 weapons with damn near every enemy. It's almost like they wanted to discourage you from combat.

I just have no interest in the game or franchise anymore. Skyward Sword really killed Zelda for me. Loved Windwaker on the Wii U.

The world and environment was pretty alive and interactive in a more realistic way.
