I’ll never forget as a kid going into a shopping mall with my pops and seeing his stop for a second and chop it up with this white mans wearing some khaki shorts and a beat up baseball cap. He told me as soon as dude walked away “that man is a doctor”

Completely changed the way I looked at wealth
Same way these cac union electricians, ironworkers making $48 an hour I worked with use to dress.

beat up 1994 Ford F-150 work truck
Nasty ass new balances & sun faded cap

fat ass house in the burbs or high rise condo overlooking Lake Michigan and they driving Audis and Camaros on the weekend :wow:

Nah he's 100% right. That meme is just pointing out the spending habits and mindset of the rich/poor. The poor place value in the material because its is not easily obtainable to them and allows them to impress other poor/middle-class people. Meanwhile, the rich dont care because they dont place the same value in it. A Gucci belt is not as valuable to a rich person than it is to a poor person.
Only thing I was getting at.

I heard black kids be lined up around the block for $3000 hoodies. Is this true?

I literally know people exactly like this.
I have a couple toys here and there but overall I try to regularly
invest not only in myself but also into real estate, stocks, 401k,HSA etc.

While I know other people who have thousands of dollars worth of debt, no real way to pay it off and a habitual need
to buy more and more "things".

When it's all said and done barring them winning the lottery or some other huge windfall of cash, I'm going to come out on the other side wealthier :yeshrug:

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Actually there is truth to this meme.

a lot of you probably got laughed at or made fun of by other black people in junior high school and high school because of your sense of style.

some of you ignored it while the rest of you probably fell for the peer pressure and started rocking better and more expensive clothes.

Also black people are arguably some of the most materialistic people in America when you factor in our wealth gap.

It would make no sense to show a wealthy person standing next to a yacht, mansion or Lambo because rich people can actually afford those things.

This meme is implying poor people keep luxury brands alive which is retarded and just another way to try to shyt on blacc ppl

Is that what you got from it?

What I got from this was that poor people have a backwards mentality when it comes to spending money.

They are poor and probably think low of themselves so purchasing those items allows them to feel rich.
