What do you like to cook, breh?

In all honesty, the majority of the s**t I do is basically soul food and regular everyday American s**t but I do it to the T. No struggle dishes. I really need to expand my repertoire to Italian and Spanish/Latin cuisine because I love those foods(even moreso than regular stuff). With Italian, anything with alfredo sauce is a WIN for me, especially Alfredo Parmigiana(basically chicken.. or veal as it's suppose to be.. parmesan with alfredo sauce). I can cook that. I wanna learn how to make homemade ravioli as well, I just haven't had the time or energy to do anything extra.

I can bake a little bit too... cakes, pies/cobblers, cookies.... Need to re-up on a wheat roll recipe... I wish I would have paid attention in school now. :why:

I'm pretty much surgical with common s**t, especially breakfast foods.. I've worked in enough kitchens that I can do the s**t in my sleep. Omlettes, breakfast burritos, scambles, keech. Pancakes, French toast, waffles... Hash browns and skillet potatoes.

I know women in their 30s and 40s that don't cook.
Part of it is the convenience of microwaves and ordering out.

But cooking your own food (provided you have the time to do so) can be a lot of fun and therapeutic in some ways.

I think it's sad whether male or female that folks can't cook beyond a microwave...I think that's basic home training and I understand that we live in the age of convenience but it's so unhealthy!

I love to hear about a man that can cook!
One of my favorite things to do with a man is cook together! It's such a bonding experience and can turn into a very romantic situation!

Cooking is such a chore... To me it's the same as washing dishes and doing laundry... Props to y'all who can get pleasure out of it...

Every now and then I get pleasure out of baking but that's just because there's a dessert waiting at the other end

I don't get pleasure out of doing dishes, but it's a necessary part of cooking...I usually clean as I go...and I've been fortunate enough to have men who understood give and take...one cooks, the other does the dishes.

I think the pleasure for me comes from knowing that for one, what I make is healthier than anything that comes pre-packaged...sharing with friends and loved ones also brings me joy.

To do it with someone you love is the icing on the cake.

I definitely have a negative association with cooking and meal time so the concept of joy around meal time is lost on me... I know some people who say cooking is relaxing and therapeutic.... :ld:... I for the life of me can't fathom it at all...
