If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
I liked The Man from Nowhere wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more. While," I Saw The Devil" is an interesting film, it was ruined for me by the lead character having the dumbest revenge plot I've ever seen. Edmond Dantes, he was not. I wasn't able to suspend disbelief at all, but instead I was left looking at the screen like :dahell:. I understand the philosophical underpinnings of the movie and what it tired to convey. I just think it went about it in an almost comical and totally absurd way, imo.

I Saw the Devil left me with a larger impression, but I'd rather watch The Man From Nowhere again...not as...difficult...to watch :merchant:

Both exceptional films that everyone should watch at least once

any more must watched korean flicks

Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance
Oldboy
Sympathy For Lady Vengeance
Memories Of Murder
Madeo (Mother)
A Bittersweet Life
The Chaser
The Yellow Sea

You honestly can't go wrong with any of these. I'd suggest even more but these are must-watch.

Also, I don't know if it's been released in the US yet but Pieta by Kim Ki-Duk is also noteworthy. It's basically an arthouse take on the Korean revenge flick, so it's a lot more down-to-earth, but it still has a sick plot with some gruesome scenes.

I'm kinda late to both as i just saw ISTD about 2 weeks ago and I was surprised at how good it was and how long I've been sleeping on this film (been in my Netflix que for months). Is the man from nowhere on there too? Same concept?

A company man - nice little action flick about a typical construction company that low key acts as a front for organised killers:

playnow-A Company Man DVDRip x264.avi | PutLocker

Chaser - like the brother said a couple comments back, great movie. basically about a pimp that keeps losin bytches, so he investigates and finds himself in some sht.

**Chugyeogja/Chaser**(Ixche)EngSubs | PutLocker

Sympathy for mr vengence - I aint watched this in a while so i cant remember what its about lol but its a classic, just watch it.

**Sympathy for Mr Vengeance**(Ixche)EngSubs | PutLocker

A better sweetlife - another classic action flick about an underboss that ends up warin with his own bosses.

**Dalkomhan insaeng/Bittersweet Life**(Ixche)EngSubspart1 | PutLocker - pt 1

**Dalkomhan insaeng/Bittersweet Life**(Ixche)EngSubspart2 | PutLocker - pt 2

It's not the same concept, it's more the Korean version of a "Taken" type action flick. Still dope as hell.

As far as movies similar to "ISTD", peep "Oldboy" and "Lady Vengeance". Both Korean. Or a Japanese movie called "Confessions". :wow:
