Do you plan to live in bumfukk, nowhere? Because any decent sized city will be A LOT more than that.
eh...my rent is mid 600's and it's a nice apt with cable included. It's very close to downtown atl and everything too. power bill is usually 50 bucks or less

Im 24... Been livin' on my own for about 3 years now. It got its ups and downs. Ups: Nobody gone say shyt to you, you can bring girls whenever you want, if you wanna smoke or drink nobody gone say shyt to you, privacy... Downs: Rent and all that shyt, loneliness, you gotta cook if you hungry and clean up after ya mess.

You gone be throwin parties at first invitin' yo niqqaz and some hos, but when niqqaz start fukkin yo shyt up and you wake up next day n nobody is gonna help you clean up that mess then you realize its not such a good idea, plus neighbors always gonna be a pain in the ass.

Always pay yo rent, try to maintain a good relation with the doorman if there's one and with your closest neighbors. The experience will make you a man.

I'm still in school but my parents moved so I was forced to grow up quick. Work an go to school full time. Rent in Cincy ain't that bad. Kinda pricey here in the UC area. I pay 459 solo. Bout 60-80 for electric. 100 for cable. But it's worth it. Love my spot.

Is it worth it?

Did it break your pockets?

Did you furnish it right away or later?

I need ny own place, but I dont wanna overdo it and struggle...bc I love to travel and go ham on weekends.

My first place was a struggle apartment :merchant:

I was working at Target making ~7/hr. I ended up renting a room for $270/mo. It was filled with a bunch of Asians and foreign exchange students and there were nasty as fukk. Roaches were everywhere, the house stank, and I was fukking ashamed to even have people over :wow:

I was broke as shyt too man. I was living off of Ramen noodles and Ravioli. I could only afford to eat cup of noodles for breakfast. I ate em so much one of the people at my job were like "You must really love love those things man." I smiled and said yeah but on the inside I was crying :to:

Thankfully a few months later I got my first real job and gotta nice apartment.

My first spot was a townhouse in the ATL area (Stone Mountain). Paid about $800 a month total (rent, utilities, internet, and Dish).

If you can find something in your budget that works, it's totally worth it. Going from having to deal with roommates in the apartment I had back in college and dealing with the bullshyt that comes with that (nikkas being late with bread, not doing dishes, arguing with they chicks, etc) to having my own spot was a monumental transition, mainly because you set your own rules and agenda. Plus on the chick side, there is nothing like having your own spot.

The main thing is making your budget and sticking to it. Not just making sure you got enough for rent and utilities, but also food costs, gas money, and the other essentials. I've seen cats who moved into their first spot after only living with their parents and just go on wyle out mode, blow their rent money at the bar and/or the club, on weed, on stunting, or on some chick, and end up ass out making them "Help a nikka out" calls to they friends and family once the 1st rolls around.

As long as you take your time picking a good spot (neighborhood, neighbors, proximity to work and where you like to hang, etc) and it's within your means, getting your first spot is one of those moments in your life that you always remember and appreciate.

I still remember the first bytch I kicked out of my spot. Ah, memories. :to:

living alone = :ahh:

I remember leaving my mommas crib and getting a spot down town......It was lonely for the first few months because I didn't really know anyone but eventually I got used it to it. Id always ask my homies to come over but they lived in the old neighbourhood relatively far away. I started meeting other people my age living down town and found a new social scene, it pretty much became a 2nd childhood with a new adventure every day. There is nothing like having your own space where you can literally shut the world out. The extra p*ssy you will get is just a plus.

Only advice I can give you is to buy groceries and not to eat out everyday. You don't really need cable or a home phone, just internet.
