North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I think the salary cap has hurt the game more. Teams can't afford to build and sustain quality teams. You got 14-2 or 13-3 teams going 5-11 the following season. Parity at some point dilutes the product. I don't give a fukk about 8-8 or 7-9 teams going to the playoffs. When you have 10-6 teams winning super bowls I feel cheated. I think parity and the constant player migration from one team to the next will hurt more. You got star players that play their entire careers with teams not being able to retire with that club, not because that team is loaded but because of the salary cap. The ones that do retire with their club like Bryan Urlacker do so because they have no choice.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
He may have a point but he speaking like the NBA ain't dying even faster than the NFL is (which to be fair, Cuban may have acknowledged NBA's declining popularity for awhile)

The NBA is no longer just an American product, while the NFL is essentially capped out in the US with little to no chance of expanding beyond our borders the NBA is currently available and wanted in markets where the NFL has no chance of being.

To say the NBA is dying is absurd, it's beyond the US now :blessed:

I wonder, you think the NBA has had an easier time globalizing its game because it doesn't resemble games like Cricket or Rugby(in the case of Baseball/Football) along with the affordability of basketball as oppose to Baseball/Football. :patrice:
definitely, most people intuitively know basketball and even if they dont, the rules are extremely simple for most part.

I think a problem in making the NBA or basketball super successful as opposed to just globalized, is that there are very few countries that are super passionate about a sport. soccer craze gets europe and latin america. there are countries crazy about baseball. bball tho, its very limited besides shyt like turkey (but then turkish fans are crazy about everything tbh). people like but dont LOVE the game itself I feel like.

thats probably why NBA always chose to market through superstar power. them asians can barely hoop but they love themselves some bean or bron

I cant agree with that. if anything salary cap is going too fast up, and Im sure there are some borderline-fraud machinations done by the league in order to show more revenue to keep the cap rising to accommodate star qbs.

the reality is if non-elite qbs didnt keep rising appetites, the cap was just fine.
the cap is what holds nfl together for most part. it would be a shytshow without cap.

I'm not familiar with what the MLB is up to these days. Can't keep up anymore....but I assume it's been beneficial. IMO having teams play outside the country in the middle of a season is ridiculous. I feel bad for home fans as well who basically lose a game per season.
I think they started the MLB season this weekend with games in australia, which started at like 2am pacific. this is weeks before the rest of the season even starts up...MLB trying real hard to get some following.

people dont realize that part as well. NFL internal bubble will be bursting soon so theyre really trying to tap into that international market

nba in the US will not reach the level of NFL in the us tho, any time soon, unless the number of regular season games really condenses

With the advance of the internet people will throw these packages in the bushes. I just threw mine away. fukk paying 37 a month, WHEN I CAN STREAM FOR FREE.

Us internet heavy folks aren't of the same ilk as your average viewer....we're ahead of the curve by a few years.

people still :heh: at the notion of being able to watch PPV fights on your comp...for free, and HD streams at that.

even low end PC's have HDMI outputs, so all that " I want to watch it on my TV" shyt doesn't even fly.

even when they see you're watching the SAME EXACT shyt, they believe cause they're paying for a service, it's somehow better.

hopefully, the NFL scales back to an extent, just to keep the demand there.....this entire notion of having the NFL on, year round sounds good but the feeling of "NFL BACK :blessed:" is unmatched.

Yeah, there's no place to go but down from here, they have this market cornered already so growth will stagnate at some point.

The NBA will never reach the NFL's level in the US, but global appeal the two leagues aren't really comparable, and the NFL will never be on the NBA's level internationally.

that mentality will be here for a while tho, at least next five years

I was at a house warming last year and I put on the gamepass via a vpn on dudes laptop since he had no cable at the time
shyt was crystal clear HD and could browse all the games and NFL network.

everyone was like ::gladbron::patrice: is this legal ? how are you able to do this without paying ? seems not worth it :heh:

So teams being able to keep their players would be a shyt show? That would be bad for the league. They way the salary cap is constructed was meant to stick it to the players. Owners give no fukks because they know fans will still pay to go to games, pay for merchandise and watch it on tv. The product today is ass. The ONLY thing that has saved todays NFL is all of the rules changes which increases offensive output. I mean where else can you have a 5000 yard QB not go to the playoffs.

Free agency has made it to the point where you can't even root for favorite players on your team because you know eventually he will be playing for someone else.
