I would be surprised but Snoop has also had verses written for him although I don’t think anywhere to the extent Drake has.
:what:

It's the other way round Patna. :skip:

And it doesn't take a away from snoop he is a great performer and he pivoted to being that more than anything. He has been very open about employing people to write for him for whole projects.

Rick Ross himself has Said Drake is one of the few people he worked with that can write to a verse for a specific song same day in studio. Snoop stopped writing a long long time ago. He had a whole era where he was freestyling the same verses over and over again that's why he started hiring people like Problem

His “problem” in this regard is also his strength…Snoop is so ubiquitous in mainstream America and to the masses on global scale at this point that his actual music output is essentially secondary/unnecessary.

It’s the benefit of being a legacy act with numerous big ventures/visibility outside of making rap albums. Ice Cube has been there for a while. 50 is there now. Their musical legacy is almost an afterthought to casual Hip-Hop fans, which is the majority.

Overrated but with a goat Flow. Flow is one of the most underrated part of being a rapper and Snoop had it.

Voice and Delivery was butter. Buddy is almost 100% name recognition, like that’s Snoop Dogg! That big name shyt will carry you…especially outside of the US. Ain’t got no type of pen tho, 🤮, can only respect him as an MC but so much..

I also didn't think he'd be around this long.
Drake being around long was a result of timing. If he came out in an era of more competitive skill based rappers he would have ran his course by now. Dudes are winning by default because of how bad the competition is that is visible on a mainstream level.

Well Views was the natural end point but i guess Rihanna put the battery in his back most likely. Its crazy how a woman counting you out will strengthen your resolve.

I didn't say anything either way. I'm still suprised.

Plus he benefits from the fact that rap is stagnant as shyt

In the 90s the entire sound changed every 2-3 years

I think most ppl were wrong. It's unprecedented, particularly in rap, to have a run as a top 5ish most popular rapper in the game that lasts for damn near 15 years.

I remember sohh being obsessed w/ Drake circa summer 2009, and I tried my best to hate on breh, but I kept hearing catchy songs and hits and stopped hating and just learned to appreciate him for what he is, a pop star.
