Idk why people come in here acting like this isn't the blatant goddamn truth.

Wasn't the knock on the Spurs forever and ever (although it wasn't necessarily true) that they were boring? That they played fundamental basketball? That they lived in slow half-court sets? That they focused on getting quality 2s and playing good defense?

Well, defense is gone in today's NBA. You're not stopping modern players and modern offenses. Half court 87ppg offenses are extinct as well. Quality 2s are no longer valued the way they were before.

The shyt the Don Nelson Mavs and D'Antoni Suns and Adelman Kings were doing in the early-mid 90s is what EVERY team is doing or trying to do now.

Pop was able to beat it before. Because the game allowed him to. He can't beat it anymore, he has to join it. We're still waiting on him to do so.

And now that his HoF players that played at an extremely high level both in terms of talent and BBall IQ are all gone, he's getting exposed.

Act like LMA and Derozan are total garbage, brehs. Better than what a lot of teams have.

I was told the Spurs had a great system all these damn years... Even to the point that Kawhi was shaded for YEARS as a system player.

Where that system at doe
Pop beat it because he had Tim Duncan.
Phil Jackson beat it because he had Shaq.

Players dictate the direction of the game not "systems".

But the Spurs were up by 25 in GS without Duncan, beating the Warriors w/Durant.

You reading too much into the Spurs down year. Losing/aging Parker/Ginoboli, Kawhi gone, Murray gone too. What did you expect?

You think you know more about basketball than Pop now. Not just any old NBA coach, a top 5 coach of all time:mjlol:

The fact you think that's the point of this thread is even further proof that you don't understand the game, and in general not capable of any level of critical thinking. But please, gon'head and keep fighting those straw men.

:lolbron:

:mjlol: The whole thread is you saying the game has passed Pop by, which would mean you seemingly know more about basketball than Gregg Popovich :mjlol:

Didn't you disappear when the Warriors choked away that 3-1 lead? Did the Warriors not shoot enough 3s?:mjlol:

I wouldn’t e

pop, manu and ducan gone. Kawhi demanded a trade and on top of all that his wife passed. Can’t even fault him for that

Supposedly in less than two years the game of basketball has passed Pop by, nevermind he lost all those players:mjlol:
