Pops biggest mistake was not trading for BI and dem, he just doesn't have the right pieces for today's league
No team has the right pieces, intrinsically, for today's league, but they adapt to the state of today's game with the personnel they do have. As I need to keep reiterating, it's why someone like Blake Griffin abandoned the midrange and extended his range behind the arc - he's not a right piece for today's league, but he changed his game to be one. You see it all throughout the league, shyt, even Wiggins has increased his 3-pt activity nearly every single season.

For whatever reason, Pop and the Spurs coaching staff have simply not done this.

Wolves shot 11 for 34 from three tonight.
Spurs shot 3 for 17 from three.

The end result was not an accident.

The Spurs were on a losing streak and I didn't even upp this thread over their last two losses. I wasn't even the one who upped this thread tonight. Never mind the fact that I did upp this thread last season, multiple times, and was in here addressing posters when the Spurs won. And as I need to keep stating, it's not about them winning/losing in a vacuum.

You say that you don't troll, yet you're in here trolling. What's the end game here for you? Are you going to contribute to this thread with something meaningful for once, or are you going to keep up this tired act?

Just going over the 4th quarter again and cotdamn there was virtually no actions to get any open shots from behind the arc. Their offense was in complete disarray; it's only compounded by them not wanting to move the ball. Meanwhile, the T'Wolves have got a 33-year-old coach whose offense looks light years ahead.

@Gil Scott-Heroin had our debate on this last year and i wasn't seeing it from his POV until the mid way point and then used Blake and Marc Gasol as my personal examples of bigs who looked outdated amd done but added the 3 ball and became more useful in today's game

Insert prime Duncan and Ginobili and things are just fine
:picard:

Insert Prime Duncan and Manu into nearly every single team are things would be fine; put them on the Kings and they'd be title favourites. I seriously wonder at some of y'all when it comes to assessing the game.

And you do realize that you're inadvertently saying that Pop isn't shyt without Duncan, right?

The nba is a players league, no system works without players.

I don't disagree that it's a players' league, however, ownership falls on the coach to put the team in the best possible position of winning, and Pop simply isn't doing that. There's more than enough talent on this roster, but they're not being utilized properly; they're trending in the opposite direction to where the league is going.

Nearly every single coach/team has realized the importance and value of the 3-pt shot, yet Pop and the Spurs are content on just doing their own thing, where they keep falling further and further behind.
