What's all this "overkill" talk?

Brehs in here are paying $100 or more for just 300mb. However, I pay a $70 (plus taxes) for 1gb.

It's a no fukkin brainer :gucci:

Yeah that's why I wanna get the fios gigabit internet. Figure with my pia vpn I'll still get over 500 mbps. 70/month is good too

****.... idk
Anything above 100mb seems to be pointless, for the most part sites like zippyshare etc have a cap limit on how fast you can download, most torrents are pretty slow avg at 6.0MBS and the only real benefit is downloading games from psn and xboxlive.
nah u just got a Ferrari and dont know how to really drive it.

imagine using shyt like zippyshare and torrents in 2017. get urself dump/distro ftp access.

Even in your extreme case, you being fooled. You justifying your investment. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You have a server with stuff you collected. You feel your shyt is precious but it's not and could be streamed from all over :francis:

BUT THAT'S NEITHER HERE NOR THERE

In your extreme case, with your fast connections it shouldn't take long to download a movie file. 200mbps is a gig in 5sec? You only pulling 100tho? The it's 10sec. That's 6gigs per minute. I know you download alot but my question is are you downloading 100gb a day? :wow:

Yes, extreme cases could cause a momentary slowdown, you might have to wait 20min for a bluray instead 10. But to put this discussion into perspective. At 200mbps, you could have 125ppl streaming Netflix at the same time.

And outside of torrent trackers there are not many other places that would use that much data at once. I'm speaking for 99%of the population and you would know that as a person with a server who deals with this field of expertise :yeshrug:

You pointed out some real shyt :manny:
A quick example and this will apply to everyone. My lady, we had our first child on new years eve. She talking about how she's gonna watch her Disney movie collection with our child when she gets a little older. I laughed my ass off because

1. They VHS tapes :mjlol:
2. We don't have a VHS player
3. I've trained her so she streams any show/movie No problem

After laughing I explained that VHS is like 460p quality and by the time our kid would be watching that shyt with her, there should be a 4k or even an 8k version. You gonna force our kid to watch that? Will our tv even accept the input or will we have to buy an adaptor first :usure:

Another example is when the ps2 dropped, everyone began to build up there dvd collections. Imagine being proud of a dvd collection today? I'd be more impressed with a loaded roku/firestick/xbox1

Tru, I was real proud and protective of my CD backups of Napster mp3s. We all know how that went :francis:

Thought the same until Spectrum downgraded me from 200 to 100 from TWC.

I was wrong. 100mbps has too many moments where it's drops sub 50 and that's noticeable. Where as when I had 200 I wouldn't drop below 100.
