I tell guys all the time that when a girl asks to go to an expensive place on a date ask 3 things
1) Ask has she been before
2) Ask what did she get and how was it
This will tell you exactly what to expect wherever you take her.
3) Ask how was the service?
This is important. It’ll tell you exactly why she was there and whether or not she was spending her own money. Also, if she says the service was less than great, you can ask her why she wants to go to a place that has shytty service.
If she’s been there, tell her you want to try some place she hasn’t been before, preferably one of your favorite spots.
If she hasn’t, then tell her that’s a place for a celebration of being together or when y’all officially start dating, not a first date.
Their response will tell you the seriousness of their intentions/interest with you. It’s worked wonders for me.
