The reality is that it's not going to happen unless a streaming service gets to the rights and finance it like how Eddie did with the new Coming 2 America sequel. There's a reason why Coming 2 America was greenlit for streaming rather than for the box office.

Movies like Friday, Players Club, etc sequels or remakes would have a better chance of getting greenlit by a streaming service than the big production companies in today's world.

I'm assuming Warner Bros. doesn't think it'll be profitable at the box office.

C2A would've been in theaters last summer if it wasn't for Rona. It was pushed back to December. It was only sold to Amazon when it became clear that movie theaters wouldn't be opening any time soon. Friday already has 2 sequels and all 3 films were profitable.

I think the biggest problem has been getting all those big names that weren't so big when the movies first came out to come back for less money/smaller roles. Warner probably has their own shyt that they want too. But as another breh said, with so many people dead and Tucker not being interested I'm not really sure what they could even do with it today.

im sure they'll let him film the movie if he pays for it, its a win win situation for them as long as they get a good cut

Not necessarily. WB is straight to HBO Max now. Unless they see a potential return on investment they aren't going to put their name on it. If it isn't going to be a $500 million dollar earner, WB probably won't waste their time promoting it, and putting it out. Even if Cube pays for it, they still have to get lawyers and people involved.

Cube should buy the rights and take it Netflix or Amazon. But if WB don't want to budge, Cube is fukked

why would it need a 500 mil earner? it would be a low budget film like the previous movies

cube should buy it but i dont think he wants to spend his money

I'm a time when films aren't going to hit the theaters, how is WB going to make its money back? No ticket sales. They have to sell advertisement and product placement. So unless this movie was going to bank half a billion in theaters, putting this movie on HBO Max probably won't turn WB a profit... Movies are like albums. They have a songs that need to be cleared. Royalties need to be paid to actors. Marketing and advertisement that needs to be bought. So if another Friday is only projected to be low budget, with low return on investment, forget about it.
