Mike Epps perfomance in the Friday series is superior to Chris Tuckers

Outside of that, Chris Tucker is funnier than Mike Epps

I don’t believe for a second he offered Chris Tucker 12 million for next Friday. Friday had a budget of 3.5 million and made 27 million at the box office. Next Friday only had a buffet of 11 million and Friday after next had a budget of 10 million.

Next Friday would have filmed after Rush Hour broke out. So I think Chris could have demanded 12. But ain’t no way in hell Cube offered him 12.

TBH, Chris Tucker isn't worth $12 million.

If you look at his IMDB/Wikipedia, he's barely in any movies. I wager that he does this (barely acts in anything) so he can cling to the value/payscale that was set by Rush Hour, so he can keep saying he deserves ten million or twenty million eventhough he's not capable of making a blockbuster today in 2023. You look at Viola Davis though (only mentioning her because Chris & Viola just did AIR together)....she's been in like 50 movies and an asston of television shows.

big worm on vladtv said tucker was worried sick about friday, that the low budget movie might ruin his reputation as an inspiring actor
it wasn't about religion, it was about business.

his next big movie was my fav of all time 'Money Talks' then the rush hour trilogy.
there was no way he was going back to cube and them
remember he only earned $5K for his role as smokey

Unless Cube was absolutely terrible to him, he could have did a cameo. You show love to the people that broke your career.

Jonah Hill did Wolf of Wall Street for like $50,000. He's not bytching. It took him to the next level.

Mike Epps has always just been around the way funny. Like if you knew him personally he'd be the funniest in the neighborhood/school, but he's never struck me as stand-up comedian level funny.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
Hope it wasn’t anything malicious behind it

Sounds like Chris just said he didn’t want to portray that image anymore. I think it worked out for both of them.

Idk if I would say Mike is funnier though, Chris pretty much carried all the comedy in the first one and went off to carry other movies on his own
He portrayed a similar character in Jackie Brown.

Mike Epps has his moments, but he's about as funny as a dustpan.
The two sequels are embarrassing, IMO. The last being almost unwatchable.
The sequels lacked a few things:
-Chris Tucker
-F. Gary Gray (director)
-DJ Pooh (screenwriter)
Cube was the least crucial part of the formula. His job was just to react the the talent around him.

Prime for prime he's not funnier but by the mid 2000s Chris was no longer funny in any capacity.

Mike is funnier and it’s not even close. Cacs and Asians love Chris Tucker for a reason.

Cube always had shady business dealings and its funny he went at eazy for that. Tbh I can see cube offering the 12 mil before the studio found out chris wasn't in it the budget went down :mjlol:
