Here's what I'm thinking.

DEM
HRC - She's too entrenched with the establishment, media, and political class to lose to Sanders.

GOP
Trump - Obviously I disagree with 80%+ of his platform, but he is for the most part self-funded, says fukk-you to special interest money, thinks Iraq War was a huge mistake, has left-leaning views on certain topics, and openly challenged the Israeli lobby on multiple occasions. He is obviously pandering to xenophobia and white fear, but I think he would govern to the left of Rubio or Cruz.

Here's where it gets good. For the first time since Ross Perot (don't come here talking Nader), we have an opportunity to present viable independent and third party candidates:

INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES

Bernie - I say he runs as an independent. It would certainly kill his relationships with the DEMs but he has a really strong grassroots movement right now who is at the mercy of a rigged primary process and pro-HRC media/establishment. This would cause major ripple effects.

Bloomberg - He decides to run. Fiscally conservative and liberal when it comes to a lot of social issues. Would pick up some support from centrists dissatisfied by Trump and HRC.

THIRD PARTY

Libertarian - I hope Ron Paul runs, retired or not. He has a lot of ground support and loyalty. I would like to see a fractured electorate, and Ron Paul would do better than Gary Johnson.

Green Party- Jill is probably going to run here.

The purpose of this? To make a dent in the two-party system race for President. This is the first time since Perot where I can remember a true possibility of strong third party and independent candidates running for President. At the least, I hope Sanders or Bloomberg would run.

Thoughts?

This won't happen. The only way any of this happens is if Trump is blocked out and is bold enough to run as an independent. Bloomberg always talks but never runs. Sanders would not run as an independent with this much at stake. I don't think any of it happens, but I would love if it did.

The only way I see Sanders launching an independent run is if Trump announces an independent run first. Otherwise he wouldn't risk splitting the dems.

If he was a man of principle and ideals, he wouldn't give a fukk about the Dems, especially in regards of how he is being treated by them during the primaries.

He doesn't seem to have as much disdain for them as many in the base do. And they have been his colleagues for decades.
Unless they do something really egregious soon to tip him over the edge, i don't see him taking this chance.

Bernie ain't doin Independent it's do now or die.

fukk him then. This loyalty to the party bullshyt is just as bad as lobbying, super PACs, Citizens United, etc..

If he cared about principles and the citizens, he wouldn't put his colleagues or party first. That's just the truth of the matter and spinning it any other way won't change that.

I was under the impression he originally started 100% self-funded and is now around 70-75% self funded, which is probably still highest amongst all Dem/GOP candidates. Am I wrong? Do you have a source explaining it?

Thanks in advance
Is Donald Trump really self-funding his presidential campaign?

He for sure contributes the most to his campaign but he's not the only one. It's one of his big positives but my problem is unlike Bernie he's not going to do anything about money influencing politics he's just doing it to trick people into voting for him.

Anyway, how about Jesse Ventura? He plans to make the decision in April.

The more the merrier bro. I would like to see a truly fractured electorate besides the old GOP vs DEM shyt, regardless who wins. I think it will serve as an example to Americans that we CAN have more than 2 viable alternatives. Having independent and third party candidates that have name recognition, grassroots movements and ability to gain traction is what we need.
