Here's what I'm thinking.
DEM
HRC - She's too entrenched with the establishment, media, and political class to lose to Sanders.
GOP
Trump - Obviously I disagree with 80%+ of his platform, but he is for the most part self-funded, says fukk-you to special interest money, thinks Iraq War was a huge mistake, has left-leaning views on certain topics, and openly challenged the Israeli lobby on multiple occasions. He is obviously pandering to xenophobia and white fear, but I think he would govern to the left of Rubio or Cruz.
Here's where it gets good. For the first time since Ross Perot (don't come here talking Nader), we have an opportunity to present viable independent and third party candidates:
INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES
Bernie - I say he runs as an independent. It would certainly kill his relationships with the DEMs but he has a really strong grassroots movement right now who is at the mercy of a rigged primary process and pro-HRC media/establishment. This would cause major ripple effects.
Bloomberg - He decides to run. Fiscally conservative and liberal when it comes to a lot of social issues. Would pick up some support from centrists dissatisfied by Trump and HRC.
THIRD PARTY
Libertarian - I hope Ron Paul runs, retired or not. He has a lot of ground support and loyalty. I would like to see a fractured electorate, and Ron Paul would do better than Gary Johnson.
Green Party- Jill is probably going to run here.
The purpose of this? To make a dent in the two-party system race for President. This is the first time since Perot where I can remember a true possibility of strong third party and independent candidates running for President. At the least, I hope Sanders or Bloomberg would run.
Thoughts?
