Daps for your response, and I feel what you're saying. That's why I said when the ball changes possession. If you see a player from your squad steal the ball, you should be able to break to the opposing goal at full speed. I am saying only when the ball changes possession. At the bare minimum, at least when you're outside of the penalty box. I think it would make for much more beautiful soccer. You would have soccer "alley oops", and score would be up to about 10-15 goals per game. I think I might start a league just to show people. If soccer was more free-flowing, and a little more physical, I think it would be an incredible game. More accurate to me would be a basketball/hockey hybrid, not football/hockey. To me basketball is the "hands" version of soccer, it's free flowing, there's no stoppage other than timeout (I don't consider taking the ball out of bounds stoppage), and you need accuracy in order to score. If basketball had offsides, it would literally suck. It sucks a little bit now because you can't hand check and be as physical as you could back in the day. But if basketball had offsides, it would be the equivalent of the Spurs vs Celtics every day

Some concessions on offsides at a minimum would make it the best game
bunch of

stuff here
first of all, basketball is the definition of a sport with stoppages. clock stops when there's a foul, ball is out of bounds, player is shooting FTs, timeouts, inbound passes, etc. in fact soccer is one of the few games where is no stoppages
then 10-15 goals per game is
heres what you fail to understand as an american. more exciting sport!=necessarily a better sport. maybe to YOU it is, but for most soccer fans its not.
again, you try to cater to what YOU think is good (in this case, exciting), forgetting what soccer FANS think is good in their game.
its the whole fukked up mentality. here in america people wont watch and generally wont support a team that isnt either 1)winning 2)entertaining to watch.
whereas many soccer fans in europe will always watch and support their team no matter what. they could be absolutely shyt and be in a D-league equivalent of the NBA and thousands of fans will still show up to support them.
then you bring up forward pass in football, when it was implemented so long ago football was merely an offspring of rugby and soccer then.
you are proposing some changes that fundamentally change some of the basic ass rules of soccer. its like allowing three forward passes in football or making the rim sit higher in basketball.
sports is a bunch of people playing sports, and fans pay to view they play it.
sports isnt played for fans to be enjoyable to watch. you dont like it, don't watch. "how to improve things so sport x can be enjoyable by stupid americans" is really an ignorant concept that gets tackled all the time by stupid people (nothing personal breh) who dont realize that no one who enjoys soccer worldwide cares whether or not the US enjoys it.
