My personal opinion soccer is boring as fukk to watch on tv, period point blank. It's like baseball, boring as fukk to watch but fun to actually play.

The ties in the sport irk me, I don't think any sport should tie, that shyt is gay

I wouldn't mind seeing more scoring either, a game that ends 1-0

And it's too many fukking teams.... Club and international

You understand the game thats why you like the tactical side, but most Americans dont.

Spain play boring football, England play boring football. Spains movement infront of the ball is more impressive then what they actually do with it.

Nikkaz is playin' real life bocce ball :snoop: I get what you're saying, there's some america football purists that love a 6-3 game, but I personally think it's ridiculous to consider a 0-0 game entertaining :what:, call me a dumb Yankee :manny: Glad to see at least the thread was thought-provoking. And in regards to the shoulder bumps, I hear what y'all said, but whenever I watch, a penalty gets called for the slightest things :yeshrug: If they opened the game up, and made it more physical at the same time, it would truly be the most entertaining sport, to me, it would be basically be rugby, but with the forward pass and physicality of american football, and the speed of fast break NBA basketball :wow:

The Football game also known as Soccer is perfect the way it is EXCEPT for the offsides rules.

If you don't appreciate the sport just leave it alone. The sh!t has been at the top of world sports for over a century now and its not slowing down

NO the NFL style football will NOT catch it in popularity
Basketball may come close but will NOT catch it in popularity

If it isn't for you just say that and K.I.M.

In Europe, the differerent countries have different styles of playing. This transfers over to the reffing of the game as well. In England physicality is more celebrated than it is in say Italy. So therefore, when these refs from different countries are selected to referee international matches, there isnt any real consistency in the way fouls are called. Thats why you tend to see a less physical side of the game in big tournaments.

:russ: :youngsabo: for disagreeing :troll:

If you been bought up in a culture where you use to seeing alot of points being scored in a particular sport, (like in NFL & NBA) then get put onto Football, you either embraced the nature of the game or people gunan think its trash because of 0-0 results. Thats the common theme I see when Americans who dont really like the game talk about football.

Apart from this tournament, the refs have probably been the best refs ive ever seen in a tournament for allowin the play to flow and not blowin up for every time a player falls over aided or unaided

It's fine the way it is. If you can't appreciate the skills it takes to do what these guys od on the pitch, then this game isn't for you. Pirlo's long passes yesterday was a thing of beauty.

The only thing soccer needs to fix is the penalty shootout to decide the winner/loser of the game. I prefer golden goal.

Pens is the fairest way tbh. Cant be doin 120mins then have to do a hockey style shootout like they use to do in MLS & back in the 70's.

Golden Goal didnt work, because it often killed the game as neither team wanted to attack so much because they knew once they conceeded that was it.

Ridiculous suggestions really. Football doesn't need to be "Americanised," they just need to learn the nuances of the game. This whole need to drive up the score for entertainment is a false choice. Divide all NFL scores by 7 and they start to look a whole lot like football scores. TDs are about as common as goals and I'll bet in some leagues (Spain for example) the average goals per game will beat out the average touchdowns per game in the NFL.

Also stop judging the sport on International tournaments and watch league play. These players for the most part aren't as familiar with teammates, coaches, and systems as they are for the league team. Imagine only judging basketball as a sport at the World Championships or the Olympics.

If teams were averaging 4-6 goals per game it would be a lot more exciting, but they're not. 3-0 is a blowout in soccer, 21-0 is not a blowout in football. I watch the Premier league all the time, which is my favorite (Man City/Liverpool :violent: ) but still, it leaves something to be desired IMHO.

21-0 not a blowout? :leon:

21-0 is as dominating of a performance in the NFL as 3-0 is in soccer...
