You understand the game thats why you like the tactical side, but most Americans dont.
Spain play boring football, England play boring football. Spains movement infront of the ball is more impressive then what they actually do with it.

Nikkaz is playin' real life bocce ballI get what you're saying, there's some america football purists that love a 6-3 game, but I personally think it's ridiculous to consider a 0-0 game entertaining
, call me a dumb Yankee
Glad to see at least the thread was thought-provoking. And in regards to the shoulder bumps, I hear what y'all said, but whenever I watch, a penalty gets called for the slightest things
If they opened the game up, and made it more physical at the same time, it would truly be the most entertaining sport, to me, it would be basically be rugby, but with the forward pass and physicality of american football, and the speed of fast break NBA basketball

This is true. They miss David Villa and 08 Torres. But what i get the Rudy face for? lol
In Europe, the differerent countries have different styles of playing. This transfers over to the reffing of the game as well. In England physicality is more celebrated than it is in say Italy. So therefore, when these refs from different countries are selected to referee international matches, there isnt any real consistency in the way fouls are called. Thats why you tend to see a less physical side of the game in big tournaments.
The only thing soccer needs to fix is the penalty shootout to decide the winner/loser of the game. I prefer golden goal.
Ridiculous suggestions really. Football doesn't need to be "Americanised," they just need to learn the nuances of the game. This whole need to drive up the score for entertainment is a false choice. Divide all NFL scores by 7 and they start to look a whole lot like football scores. TDs are about as common as goals and I'll bet in some leagues (Spain for example) the average goals per game will beat out the average touchdowns per game in the NFL.
Also stop judging the sport on International tournaments and watch league play. These players for the most part aren't as familiar with teammates, coaches, and systems as they are for the league team. Imagine only judging basketball as a sport at the World Championships or the Olympics.
If teams were averaging 4-6 goals per game it would be a lot more exciting, but they're not. 3-0 is a blowout in soccer, 21-0 is not a blowout in football. I watch the Premier league all the time, which is my favorite (Man City/Liverpool) but still, it leaves something to be desired IMHO.
