I only knew about Liberia and Trinidad wow :ohhh:

Knew about Liberia since a kid

Found out about the black enslaved soldiers that fought in “The War of 1812” and were given their freedom in Trinidad some years back

I’m about to do a deep dive into Nova Scotia New Brunswick and Sierra Leone
Not only that but rebellious slaves where sent to the carribean ever since King Phillips War.

According to Malcolm X some rebels where just marooned on an Island somewhere.

really it wasn't until the war of 1812 did Black People Get sold down the river Meaning the Missisippi River because they really didn't start building cotton Plantations in the Mississippi river valley until then.

That was considered to be bad because not only where families broken up but they had to build the plantation so it was very hard work.

That's excellent news to know more about your family.

He's still not FBA

Ask Tar Tar Ack to explain how caribbeans (in this example) are not FBA and vice-versa :hubie:

"In addition, after the 1808 abolition of the slave trade to the United States, many Americans continued to engage in the slave trade by transporting Africans to Cuba. From 1808 to 1860, almost one-third of all slave ships either were owned by American merchants or were built and outfitted in American ports.[22] It is possible that U.S. citizens "may have transported twice as many Africans to other countries such as Cuba and Brazil as they did to their own ports""

The definition of FBA depends on what the trademark holder of the term, means at any given time.

it's horseshizzit.

slaves were moved between the caribbean and north america as demand rose and fell.

as slavery was banned in north america then FBA were sold to caribbean countries which still had legal slavery.

likewise as the american economy grew and demand for slaves grew, slaves were sold from the caribbean to the north.

that means that some in the caribbean today are more FBA than some who who now claim FBA but were later arrivals from sales from the caribbean.

TL;DR there was no line preventing sales between the then colonies in the north and southern americas .... and masses were sold and moved in both directions.
