There's some truth to it, but it's more about class than race.

A hick in Alabama has only a slightly better chance of making 6 figs as a brother growing in the inner city.

However, I do agree that middle class white dudes pretty much have it set up for them to succeed, way more than middle class black men.

We all know you have to work twice as hard to get half as far. Most successful brothers I know, have moved around in different companies because these corporations don't want to reward your hard work with promotions and raises, they'll just keep abusing you. Whereas a white cat will have positions created for him to develop and grow.

I'm the first to agree that we need more black businesses out there. But I don't think scolding black people that have not started these businesses is the way.

It's about building social and family structure where entrepreneurship is supported, where financing is available, and where people are not as afraid to take risks because they have things to fall back on.

There are lot of white folks that don't worry about having their own business, but what they do is instill it in their children. My former boss is a corporate cog in the wheel like everybody else in the office, but his children have their own business. You have a lot of business owners that grew up in families where their parents were dentists, lawyers, accountants, engineers etc., but had the resources and the desire to help their children create their own ventures.

A lot of us are not compelled to start our own businesses because we don't have the same safety net as other races. If we start a business it's all on us. Whereas other races either have well to do family members supporting them or it's a family venture with several people involved.

most white families raise their kids with a "start a business mentality, create your own job, invent, invent, invent". most people of other races, blacks especially, put tremendous emphasis on going to school and doing the best u can to get a good job working for someone else. they actually think being a "doctor", "lawyer", etc are the end-all-be-all professions. the problem is, u cant pass that down to your kids.

if the black man wants to excel pass the issue of race, the first thing he must do is isolate himself from the marching assembly that's destined to a predictable destination.
