Correct me if I'm wrong cause I know you know your music, but I'm under the impression that those genres of music (especially rock, rap) were attacked because the establishment feared it for the subsersive potential it had, and given voice to the youth. On the other hand trap music is accepted/pushed by the mainstream precisely because they know those who listen to it aren't subsersive at all, and represent no threath whatsoever to the establishment.

I've been listening to trap music i.e. Gucci Mane, Jeezy, etc. since I was 8 and I'm more wise and have more sense than the people in my school that listened to pop/"positive" music.

When I was 14, I was heading down a the path to self-destruction but common sense and me having a fantastic mother slapped me into my senses. Also, Teens naturally have a rebellious stage so this had nothing to do with the music I listened to.

Stupid people and people with shytty parental figures let music influence their behavior. You guy's remember the saying 'You can't change someone unless they want to change themselves'? Music can't change the way someone acts unless they were headed down that path to begin with.
