I like Joey but he's taking things too far lately. People listen to music for all types of reasons: to party, for run, relaxation, discovery, therapy, etc. The only thing you can judge someone on based on their music is their music IQ/experience. If all you listen to is trap or pop music you aren't really expanding or challenging your taste. That's literally the only thing you can tell based off music alone. You aren't better than anyone because you listen to Radiohead or Elzhi.

Didn't watch video but the statement is too blanket to be relevant. If Joey said what the title does - it speaks to his fake deep perspective which I find in his music (which I enjoy - for the music and rapping abilities not his insight).

It is true that music can negatively affect you. If you only listen to trap and are in certain environments - it will damage some people sure. Young men do align their identity a bit with culture - music and clothes for example. A kid in that same environment listening to Joey/Kendrick all day is probably a different type of dude. It's not the music, it's the kid mostly.

Depends on the upbringing though, definitely a difference between living with a single mom in the hood as opposed to having two parents in the burbs.
