maybe not lil cease status but you get the point :mjlol:
look, i like reasonable doubt, bp, tba and ag. rd is of my favorites hip hop albums that has gotten better w/ time
but let's not act like jay z won't a poor man's version of biggie (and for the record, i like jay z)
biggie was jay's blueprint. everythin' biggie did, jay has followed suit and did when it comes to the music
anytime a man quotes another man every since album since 2nd album (vol. 1) it speaks volume

when big was here, there was no room for jay to spread his wings
big had the game on lock, especially as far as the east coast went with solo artist (competition bein' nas)
no jay z album comes close to ready to die
no jay z album comes close to life after death
even on jay's best day with rd, bp and tba, he pales in comarison to biggie's monumental albums
i know a bunch of stans will come in here and say this or that but i'm sorry, facts is facts
i say this as a jay z FAN but jay z was able take over the game due to both big and pac's passin'
jay z is a poor man's or diet coke version of biggie
jay z can fool the generation of fans who know of him from blueprint and on but not us old heads
biggie was the true king of new york; frank white :mjcry:

where my fellow old heads at who know what's up at? :obama:

Reasonable Doubt is just as good as Ready to Die

and there could've been 3 rappers on top
but he wouldn't have been able to steal BIGs style

He would have been fabolous

Jay retired,so by the retarded logic of this thread Fabolous should be Jay right now:mjlol:

And @stomachlines how the hell did Biggie show he could do more than Nas and Jay?and are you saying they didnt also show they could do more than him:wtb:

They both proved they could make hits and classic records without Puffy, can Biggie say the same:sas2:?without Puffy,Biggie is a less versatile Beanie Sigel:mjlol:

biggie could do both the songs for the streets, then do an introspective/retrospective joint and a have a club banger (
now i will admit, puff did help to smooth out those edges with the singles
nas can do that with the exception of club joints
jay can do the club joints and he got some introsepective/retrospective songs but with the exception of those types on reasonable doubt, they come off lightweight
after learin' how the game works and how to balance his craft from puffy, biggie probably could've done it without puff
but i won't front like puffy didn't play a role in helpin' biggie with his mold and hone his craft and talent

Same lane:what:?who cares? You do realize them nikkas rap completley different right? You know how many nikkas i know who will never listen to Jay because he simply dont "sound hard"? nikkas aint listening to Jay because he rap about coke too, they liked the way he rapped period....more poetic, faaaaar better wordplay, more clever, more cocky, way more introspective, stop me when Im wrong:sas1:

By your logic 90% of ny rappers wouldnt hve existed if Biggie didnt die which we know is a damn lie:mjlol:...nikkas rapped in the same lane just fine,befor3 and after Biggie....funny thing is nikkas will cosign this bullshyt...but wont admit DMX wouldnt hve existed if Pac didnt die:pachaha:

Jay is a much different rpper from Biggie, and people like that:manny:

you missed my point when i said same lane and obviously just don't get what i said but whatever, it's all good :yeshrug:

Yeah, dude keeps trying to say Jay and Big were pretty much the same, and I just shake my head, as they don't really remind me of each other that much. They are both from Brooklyn, and rapped about selling drugs (on different levels), and that's where the similarities end to me.

BIG = Raw storytelling street cat, with exceptional charisma
Hov = Witty introspective hustler, with unapolagetic arrogance
What really gets me is when people say Jay stole Nas's style.
Even more insane.

I don't know why some ppl are trying to make it a debate about who's better between biggie and jay. It has nothing to do with anything. Some ppl prefer az over nas, the fact remains that az never left nas's shadow and that's despite him having his own style.

There's documented proof of Jayz dropping one of the best albums ever and dropping one of the best radio singles of that era, and still being a after thought.

There's proof of him dropping an album trying to ride the wave of biggies death and trying to wear shiny suits and be next up to the throne and no one really caring.

He's a smart guy who never gave up on himself and had a lot of luck.
