you missed my point when i said same lane and obviously just don't get what i said but whatever, it's all good :yeshrug:

I get it,its just irrelevent in my opinion because they are two completley different emcees....if you cant see why somebody would like Jay over Big,or simply be able to love both, thats a personal problem:manny:

biggie could do both the songs for the streets, then do an introspective/retrospective joint and a have a club banger (
now i will admit, puff did help to smooth out those edges with the singles
nas can do that with the exception of club joints
jay can do the club joints and he got some introsepective/retrospective songs but with the exception of those types on reasonable doubt, they come off lightweight
after learin' how the game works and how to balance his craft from puffy, biggie probably could've done it without puff
but i won't front like puffy didn't play a role in helpin' biggie with his mold and hone his craft and talent

You makijg alotta assumptions on what Biggie coulda woulda done but wont make those same assumptions for Jay,Jay was just hopeless without Biggie dying:pachaha:

After watching you sit here and talk aboit Biggies introspectiveness:comeon:?then turn around and hve the nerve to call Hovs shyt outside of reasonable doubt "lightweight" is just :scust:?this had the smell of a hate thread from the jump, but shyt just went rotten in here:scust:

I don't know why some ppl are trying to make it a debate about who's better between biggie and jay. It has nothing to do with anything. Some ppl prefer az over nas, the fact remains that az never left nas's shadow and that's despite him having his own style.

There's documented proof of Jayz dropping one of the best albums ever and dropping one of the best radio singles of that era, and still being a after thought.

There's proof of him dropping an album trying to ride the wave of biggies death and trying to wear shiny suits and be next up to the throne and no one really caring.

He's a smart guy who never gave up on himself and had a lot of luck.

Vol 1 not blowing up is all the more proof Jay didnt just become a success by proximity or as some right of passage because he was next up....there were much bigger well known nikkas who couldve been pushed to fill that void if thats all it took...plus alotta nikkas came after Jay and as peers with Jay,he outlasted them all and never dissapeared as one of the top....jay faced more superstar competetion, and competetion in general than Biggie did and yall still talkin:mindblown:?

All Biggie succefussly had to do was overcome Pac,and since a hit was put out by him or his boss so they wouldnt have to compete,he couldnt even do that succesfully:mjlol:.....Its only one person who didnt earn they spot, and it aint Jigga:sas2:....use a nikka who arguably didnt earn they spot to say another nikka who earned they spot didnt earn they spot brehs.

Jay retired,so by the retarded logic of this thread Fabolous should be Jay right now:mjlol:

And @stomachlines how the hell did Biggie show he could do more than Nas and Jay?and are you saying they didnt also show they could do more than him:wtb:

They both proved they could make hits and classic records without Puffy, can Biggie say the same:sas2:?without Puffy,Biggie is a less versatile Beanie Sigel:mjlol:
Jay's retired?

son what are you talking about ? lmao
name me a rapper who came out as another Popular rappers little homie/sidekick and became bigger than him
talent and quality of music is a whole nother argument
jayz wasn't getting out of biggies shadow, and pac was on his ass and he said he wanted no parts of pac
biggie and pac died, and nas took a break. dmx took the "pac spot" while jay-z took the biggie spot and told biggies fans that he was heir to biggies throne.
don't no why dis is so hard for you to understand
atleast with dmx, he didn't come out yet so saying he wouldn't be able to come out if pac didn't die is pure speculation (i think he woulda been just fine)
with jay-z, he was alive when biggie and pac were alive dropping legendary music and was an after thought
matter a fact, jay-z was out before biggie pac and nas lmao in the early 90s, and during hawaian sophie fame
still couldn't get on

like i said, jay-z is a smart guy who grinded his ass to the top, made the right connections, and had a lot of luck
its not even a diss, it is what it is

You talkin like Jay was Lil Cease:heh:...nobody outside of the east knew that nikka,he was new to alotta people....So acting like he was even seen as Biggies "sidekick" or lil homie to then audience he actually blew up with is ridiculous..

Far as examples you have Pac with Digital Underground,Ice Cube with Eazy E,Snoop with Dre,Juelz was bigger than Camron,Lil Wayne blew past all the hotboys, and Drake blew or is at least equal to Wayne in status:manny:...these people by far were moreso "sidekick" or lil homie thn Jay ever was.

And why the hell we talkin bout Hawaain Sophie,or Reasonable Doubt:dahell:....we gon pretend RD was the commercial reach his followups were?....Illmatic flopped with more hype than Jay had if you recall:mjlol:...and Jays first commercial attempt flopped so what are yall even talkin about?he blew up because he dropped a undeniable UNHEARD OF smash with Hard Knock Life using the annie sample:wow:

Anybody who cant see its that simple is on sum bullshyt, its simple matmatics.....Jays single run was better thn Biggies with Life After death.....sondead or alive Biggie wouldve had to deal with Jay....youndomt have a good argument other thannyou THINK people would be too stuck seein Jay as Biggies sidekick to embrace him.

A top rapper doesn't erase another top rapper's career just by merely existing. They would have to beef for that to happen and since Biggie and Jay seemed somewhat close, i couldn't see that happening.

Those people were seen far more as sidekicks and second fiddles to bigger artist than Jay was:comeon:

Jay was no more sidekick to Biggie than 50 was to Nas,and we all know how that turned out if you need another example:sas2:...im telling you to the majority of people who are the reason Jay blew,he wasnt seen as Biggies lil man....your overexgerating the fukk out of that link to fit your narrative, like most people who run with this bullshyt do.

The proof should be today in 2016 Jay is seen as his own seperate entity to people, whereas a Lil Ki who also had big success, when you think of her you think of Biggie....Proof Jay wasnt in Biggies shadow like that is the fact he is not in Biggies shadow NOW.

Only thing stoppin az from getting out of AZs shadow is AZ,plus the fact he aint better than Nas....people decided differently with Biggie and Jay i guess:manny:
